I purchased and installed a set of 12"x24" (Froont and Rear) flaps from Kaydenco/Duraflap out of Oregon.

My truck is a month old with 4k miles and already has quite a few rocks chips on the rockers (prior to falp install). The side of the truck would get a lot of crap thrown on it as well.

The new flaps work awesome, no new rock chips. You can determine how high you want to mount them during install, probably + or - 3 inches. I set mine at about 8 innches in front and 9 inches in rear, measuring from the ground.

I think they look pretty good on the truck, even though I have never liked mudflaps on pick-ups.

My next paint protection step is to add Clear Bra to the front of the truck. This looks like a good product.

So far I absolutely love this truck! My first vehicle at age 16 was an '83 Chevy K-10 Blazer with the Detriot 6. 2 Diesel. To say the difference between that truck and this one is night and day would be a tremendous understatement. Compared to my '97 Ram 1500 4x4 5. 9L gas, it is at a minimum night and day.

Be careful with a bra. They don't sit still on the truck. The wind pushes against them and it's like a constant rubbing of the paint on the truck.

Nick,

Clear Bra is a transparent adhesive film manufactured by 3M to prevent rock chips and other damage to vunerable painted surfaces in vehicles. It's totally different than the traditional bra design you are describing, which I have never put on a vehicle and never would for the reasons you mentioned.

The Clear Bra is almost 100% transpartent when installed and has a 5 year warranty against yellowing, etc. It sounds like I'm a salaes rep, but this looks like an awesome product and I have read raving reviews about it. It is gaining a lot of popularity in the high-end car market.

It is sold under severl brand names, but it all comes from 3M. I understand you can buy it in rolls from NAPA or certain places sell pre-cut kits, which is the way I plan to go.

That is correct. I purchased 20 feet of the 4" wide 3M film from Geno's to cover the tops of my bed rails and tail gate. I just got it a couple of days ago, haven't had time to install yet.
