2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission muffler elimination kit question

Hello,aside from making more noise,what are the benifits from installing this kit,will it lower my EGT while trailering??

it will lower your egts a little bit but not enough to notice.

Eliminating my muffler got me 50 degrees easy.

Less backpressure should let the turbo spool a little faster.

I removed my muffler and left the cat. I did not notice a egt drop or at least enough to notice. The truck has a much deeper and throaty sound. I did notice a increase in cab noise (drone) around 1800 to 2100 rpms. When towing a long grade with the family, it can get a little loud. My son loves the noise and my wife just looks at me about half way up. I think sometimes she feels she had 2 kids.
