Muffler Elimination Kit

Just purchased 2006 turbo diesel (1st time diesel owner) Have heard that I should install a muffler elimination kit. What will this process do? Make the truck louder? Increase performance? Increase mpg? Thanks for the in input.

More noise, More drone, MPG may increase 0. 4 +/-, You may feel a slight loss in the bottom end, if you have no other mods. The Turbo needs a little bit of resistance on the Exhaust side.



When I had mine, I had a muffler shop weld a piece where the oem muffler would go. It cost me $40 for the Straight pipe, then $40 to putt the oem back on after 8 mos of not liking all the noise and loss of Low end.

Same here, except I was able to stand it for a little over a year. The drone while towing was just too much.

What about a muffler replacement just for improved sound??? My understanding is the 06 already has an optimized exhaust system for performance, but would like to improve the sound of it, even if it doesn't really make it go faster.
