Most recent addition/mod is the installeation of a muffler. It's actually a Type 1 (straight through) Resonator 4" in/out by Nelson # 86144.

Thanks so much to Cepp for the resonator info as my wife stopped riding with me and my ears had begun to bleed with the recent install of the shorty stacks. The resonator was about 49. 00 obtained from local OTR Truck Dealership. I was looking at mufflers at 95. 00 to 120. 00

It's really quiet (IMHO) , but so much bettern' bleeding ears. I can listen to the turbo once again :)

Now, how are you going to do that on the standard cab truck?

I cannot believe there is a grease line on the floorboard of your truck, I figured the bottom of you truck would be spotless as the top, especially since you have access to a pit at work! :-laf I'm going to save that pic and put it in my readers rigs, under the title, Scott's truck is dirty!!!! :D ;)

Michael

The stacks would normally be a major PITA however, I have three trucks to drive and am not at all bothered to drive another rig.

Michael..... just try it. I have connections you know. ROF

Thanks for the somewhat kind connents guys LOL

Yes. Tugboat and I will be in the Silver B on 6-6-06 @ 0600. Phil and I like our eggs scrambled/rye toast (lightly buttered)/FREASH joe (cream & 4-Splendas)/Ham/home fries and sausage-gravy over buttermilk buscuits.

Good rest. up here at Boyer ( about 12 miles from Cass) That description sounds just like the food they fix. Ya might have to go with their homemade bread ( don't know if they have rye). We'll definitely try it out on 6/6. Just make sure your belt has a notch that you can let out. Lookin forward to seeing you guys then.

I don't know, looks like we all speak CTD and biscuits & gravy :-laf I think we'll do ok. Just make sure those belts have an extra notch or 2 that you can let out. :) I work about a mile up the road from the Boyer rest. and work for the same family that owns it. They'll feed us good. :-laf

Cool set-up

Greenleaf-

How did you get by cuttin the tonneu cover does't the thing burn up with your stacks next to it? I would like to put a stack on my truck but I have a new tonneu and I don't want it to catch on fire. It's nice to keep stuff dry when I'm camping, how much water gets into your bed. Any advice?

Zach

You have to meet the prerequired aspects of a road trip.

First Gen Diesel

Buscuits 'n Gravy

Steam Locomotives that smoke like a First Gen.

Do you need an interpreter? You can borrow mine.

I have this friend in the soft cover business. Yes. Mine burns up with every long trip. It starts to melt my the time I reach town. If on the interstate, it will completely catch afire... ... ... ... ... ... .....

ROFLMsocksO :-laf :-laf

No. Not really. The stacks simply DO NOT become hot enough even though they nearly touch the cover.

I do get some water in around. Not much but some. Heck, I even had water leakn' in with out the holes for the uprights so it aint no biggy. Just don't pack the bags and let 'em slide up front and ride against the Y pipe :--)

I dunno the restaurant only holds about 60, any more than that and ya gotta eat on the porch. :-laf Greenleaf, don't burn her down gettin here, watch that EGT and those stacks. :-laf

I reckon I can bring my '93 W250. :) I travelled thru many counties in that area 6-7 years ago when I first discovered the beauty of those mountains. Pocahontas & Greenbrier counties are 2 of my favs. I was in Cass and saw the train station, but did not take the train ride. Now that I'm in Tennessee I don't get up that way as often. If there's interest & room for one more I think it would be a great reason to make the ~600 mile trip! My truck is from Wash. state and I drove it back home via San Diego, Calif. hehe!! I'm in Flagstaff, Ariz. right now...
