I was wondering if anyone has had any gains or experinces with cutting out the muffler on a 24 valve?

Thanks

muffless

many of the tdr memebers are resonator and muffler challenged. i tried mine that way, but noise and "drone" were too much for me. i now have a 4"system with a BHTM (Big Honkin' Truck Muffler). love the sound, but i'm not sure there is any performance gain, except probably lower EGT's. :)

Do it. Your boost will climb much faster, EGT's lower and it sounds great. I left the resonator in and straight piped where the muffler was for $50.

sidetrack

charlie... ... ... let me see... ... ... things i don't have

1. isspro turbo temp monitor

2. fueling box--Raptor? PE Comp?

3. transmission upgrade

4. piers turbo

5. exhaust brake

6. PS grid heater saver

and... ... ..... and... ... ... . and... ... ... ..... :D

sorry didn't intend to sidetrack the thread too much;)

heater saver

monitors coolant temp and another parameter, i think. shuts the grid heaters off earlier than the OEM plan. saves heaters and batteries.

Has anyone been able to remove the stock muffler without cutting it? Mine does not look too rusted yet. I would like to be able to put the muffler back if I don't like the sound.
