Will taking off the muffler, but leaving the cat. give me any more perf. Also,

will it void the warranty?

no it shouldn't void the warrenty. no sure if you'll get any performance gain but you will drop your egt's and it will be louder. so go ahead, hack that stocker off. that's my vote. if too loud, just get an aftermarker muffler.
