What mufflers do the different 4" exhausts use? JFE, Jardine, DD and the others. I'm wondering the different between them. I see a lot of difference in pricing.

The JRE uses a walker muffler. I'm not sure about the others. You can download clips of how the JRE and DD systems sound. To me the JRE has a deeper, more throaty sound. But that's from hearing the downloads only. When I buy exhaust, I'm going to go with the JRE. JMO.

jardine....all the way....

We put a Jardine 4" on RustyJC's at the meeting in October. It has a Magnaflow flow-through. This has got to be one of the sweetest sounding exhausts possible. When I upgrade mine to 4", I will go with a Jardine, but it'll be a stright pipe.

Do a search on mufflers and you will find TONS of threads.

Andrew

Sorry, I forgot about the Jardine. That is the one system I've heard in person. It did sound pretty good.

Hey Andrew, I take it you're going to SFA. I know a few people that went there a couple of years ago. I've seen you post quite a bit, and am curious where you are originally from. In a previous thread you saw I was from Austin and said something about picking up chicks on 6th street. I figure with knowing that and your username, you're probably from Texas.

Sorry I got so far off subject.

SFA=School For Alcoholics.........

yeah, I goto SFA, I use to goto Blinn in Brenham though. I am pretty young, 22 in January, and I am originally from Houston, but can be found on any given Friday or Saturday in College Station, Auston, or where ever the music takes me.

Oh yeah, Jardine all the way... . just had to keep on topic!:D

Andrew

One last time. I turn a whopping 24 in March, so your not far behind. If you want to, next time you plan to come to Austin, drop me a PM and maybe we could meet up somewhere. I know a couple of places to hang out. I'm sure you've heard of some of them.

Allright, I'll get out of the way now.

I like the Walker 21471 because it has a good sound, modest diameter for good fit, long core for sound modulation, and perforated not louvered core for virtually zero restriction. Diesel Dynamics uses this muffler and I am happy with the fit of their pipes. They also worked on muffler placement to minimize droning and odd harmonics.

I have seen the BD Power and Jardine systems and they look nice but haven't installed them myself, other than the BD downpipe for the HX40.
