I got 2 doubles and a triple this morning. Was not on the site at the time, actually they were on my home puter and I was checking my e-mail from my work puter. They were all from the humor thread

Well, in a stroke of irony, I got multiples (2) at 10:41am today for THIS THREAD! I was on the road at the time, so couldn't have been on the site.

I haven't gotten any duplicates. I did just try rebooting both the servers that send out notifications. Let me know if you receive any more duplicates.

I saw I got another double this afternoon at 4:28.

It's pretty erratic. Several days in a row, then nothing for a week or 2.

Well, this takes the cake: 9, yes 9 notifications for the same post to the same thread. 6 of them were at 5:29p today and the remaining three were at 5:49p today.

Well, I've figured out what's causing it. It's happening when users are hitting "post reply" multiple times. The software looks for duplicate posts and won't actually submit the post to the database if it's an exact duplicate but it looks like it still sends out the notification. I'm going to submit a support ticket to vB and see if they can change how it's handled in future versions.
