Here I am

Competition MUNCIE -Fuller, Puller, and Miss Cleo.

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Off Roading Fuel tank option's!

Off Roading Dakar Hummer

Miss Cleo from Texas has put her foot in it again. ;)

Fuller and I set out with the same goals- beat the other guy, make the top ten, and don't break!!

I was as shocked as anyone as to where I finished.

Bottom line- the big hammers broke or overpowered the track, when the smoke cleared, I ended up 1, in the 8000 and 2 in the 7200, and Jim was RIGHT behind me.

If he would not have run out of fuel,(no smoke!) he would have been right there.

Jim is not done pulling, no doubt in my mind.

Strick-9 had an awesome pull for a newbie, all he needs is boost before the 200 ft mark!!:D

I also met TDK, Todd T, KTA, and Peter from SBC. And all the FREAKS from chat.

Scheids truck,

:--) :--)

So much more to tell, but man did we have fun! From Fuller sooting my entire truck, inside and out, to him throwing me the thumbs up after the full pull, to him winning the drags, it was an awesome time!!

I'll post some great quotes on another thread.

And Mr. Outside the bed stacks himself, Merrick! ,Holeshot Holset, Verlyn Fast, Rottendogue, and many more.

Should have made a list.

Congrats Gene, i didnt get to shake your hand before we hit he dusty trail. glad to have put a face to your name though.

let me take the oportunity to introduce Larry Crawford to the gang. he is a State Rep. from Missouri (St. Louis Diesel Owners Club member) this was his SECOND time to ever compete. he pulled ONE time (that's once down the track and quit) last year at Schieds. he drove in on the tires he pulled with too.

Great Job, Larry.

Congratulations Gene!

It was nice to meet you Gene-congratulations on the pull!! Stakeman, you missed a good time:p :p . Larry Crawford has done an outstanding job with his truck. . It must pull his travel trailer nicely down the road:D :D . I can't wait for Scheid's!!

BOOOOO!!!

Oops... I did it again!

It was great to finally meet ya'all... . even you Gene... haha!! Now where's the 'southern accent' knob on this keyboard... ...

Matt - "Ooooh, look!... . they have clam chowdah!!"

I needed to address the Miss Cleo part a little more, as it is quite humorous!

MISS CLEO STATEMeNTS PRIOR TO MUNCIE:

The West will give the Mid-West a lesson in HP and maturity that will start the crying, whining, and tearing of clothes. Gene, bring yourself a few of those Amsoil t-shirts to change into after the smoke clears. Maybe few pairs of underpants too

Ok maybe a few more Hp for the twins. You must be about 405 or so. Remember the fueling curve is history after 2500rpm and twins and cam are not too good before that. I realize that rpm will help get the sled down the track. Heck you gotta do something when the HP is low. Jim has 560 PLUS and less than 3200 usable rpm.

""He will show you how to use HP and not rpms to pull the sled ""

Like a tried to tell Andrew this weekend... smoke is not always power. Knowing the cylinder size and the injectors time to get the fuel in will tell you mountains on which way to go with injector size.

""Just another clue that the HP is kinda low in the Mid-West ""

Oh Gene, the DD cam is making the boost come on faster and lowering EGT. No flycuts for massive lift needed. The waiting for the turbos to get spooled up is much less. Unlike your rig that is boggy until about 2500 rpm Jim's is cranking out max HP already.

This goes back to my points about fuel time curve being too short at anything over 3000rpm to do jack crap.

A few points:

1) Smoke is not always power.

.

3) 40HP spread in injectors at this performance level is huge. These guys have begun to reach the point in which making more power on diesel only takes a ton of technology, research and patience.

He has also added more DD technology as stated above. Ill let you figure the rest out.

5) Injectors that spit, **** and drip fuel are hard to make accurate power with and raise EGT's.

Just a little fat to chew on.

Miss Cleo~

And one from Piers, prior:

"Man, & I thought that this event would be worth the 4 day (one way) drive just for the B. S. & camaraderie. Now I'm not sure I want to loose almost two weeks of work just too hear a bunch of east verse west *****ing going on, who knows what you all say about us Cunucks. especially the west coast ones. Is there even going to be a two wheel drive pull?"

Well Piers, let us know when you get home, you seemed happy enough the amount of Diesel you were drinking.

:D

:)

I love it!

Good post, Gene!

It was said many times last weekend. The west brought a knife to a gunfight at the pulls.

I have to agree

-Chris

Well, knife may be a bit harsh. I think maybe the west sent the best DD had to offer, IE: the biggest gun they had!!

However, the two Texans I met, gave me a whole new out look towards TDR Texans!

Strick,

a little puller secret, start letting the clutch out at 3000, and keep adding power, that will spool that H2E!

Or were you auto hampered?:D

If so, Neutral until 4000, then D. :--)

BTW, did you guys notice where Frank, Powersnorter finished?

We have worried so much about everyone else, I think Frank deserves some credit as the lone Ford in the Top 5, in one class, and 6th in the other.

just got to Dallas.....

Gene,

You KNEW I was not a spy, look at those old threads, but for some reason I didn't get my Amsoil shirt. :D Heck, I should even get some of that prize money for helping you with the weights. ;)

Mr. Clam Chowdah,

Missed ya leaving cause I was running in my class, I lost, and then got a great reaction time of 0. 00 in the losers bracket. Oo. Hope you can make it to Texas one day bud.

Mr Piers, and Mr. Peter,

Still feel sorry about what you pointed out to me. :(

Andrew

I thought I would wait a bit to see where this thread was headed before posting. I would like to Congragulate Gene on a very awesome pair of pulls. I am sorry my truck was not there so he could beat me also. I would also like to take this oppurtunity to applaud all the pullers regardless of where they finished. We were all witness to a little diesel history on Saturday. There was unbelieveable amounts of Raw Horse Power displayed as well as some very refined driving talent. Since I was unable to compete with you all, my team and I were able to help out with running the pull. This gave us a chance to see all of you as you were preparing for and then competing. I was impressed with the sportsmanship and professional attitudes that were displayed by all who were there. We are looking forward to Schied's, to be involved with and compete against people we are proud and honored to call Friends.
