CTD Good Samaritan in Houston

Went to last night's Murfreesboro TN truck and tractor pull. Five or six Dodge pro stock trucks did awesome full pulls or very near full pulls. The lone powerchoke made some very expensive sounds on launch, and the driver aborted his first pull. On his second try the same thing happened, and he got rear-ended by the sled, busting his taillight and bending the bed sheetmetal. Got lots of laughter the second time, kind of like having a rodeo clown. Gotta give him credit though -- he did better than the chevies. No Duramaxes showed up to play.

On a serious note, the venue (Tennessee Miller Colliseum) was dangerously short (260 ft. ) for a pull, with no overrun. A full pull was just a few feet away from the 4 ft high wall between the dirt and the spectators. They should have reset the sled to load up sooner. Several tractors smacked hard into the rather small sandpile against the wall, and New Holland 10,000 lb pro stock got to violently rocking and broke loose from the sled, climbing the wall and ripping a front wheel off. The driver came real close to proof-testing his roll cage. Even though the first four or five rows of the end-zone seats were roped off, I imagine some of the folks in the seats behind them needed a britches change. This was the first pull in this venue. It will be interesting to see if Middle Tennessee State University lets them come back.

Sounded like a good time!

It was Justin..... oh yeah and "those folks" sitting in like the sixth row back... yeah Travis Dykes(sp?) and Craig ????? from KYDTR videoing the WHOLE THING! :-laf :-laf :-laf

They also got Brad Ingram(sp?) running into the sand WFO @ 30mph and the sled spanking that rear HARD when his truck suddenly came to a stop!!! :eek: :--)

I sat with Craig & Travis tonight in the exact same spot but the sled was so heavy even the 10K tractors nor Kent or Van could get into the sand. :rolleyes: :{
