I hope this guy doesn't have to argue tooth and nail like I do about the "value of my truck" when it come to total losses........ I fought awhile back when I had a truck wiped out...Looks like a nice 3rd gen...

yeah, That is the kind of stuff that usually happens to me :D..my wife works with aircraft engine assembly QC, we were shocked that the enclosure failed like it did but it did its job and contained the energy as designed, I'm sure there will be alot of investigations, I have flown 777 many times across the pacific, it is a great plane!

I bet it was one hell of a surprise to come out and see it..., probably thinking "man I should've parked the minivan there last night........."

We had a B-52 lose a inboard flap not once but twice. It was in Northern Maine and I alway's envisioned a guy fishing in a stream and getting wiped out with that big piece of aluminum. The flap took out half of the stabilizer when it happened. They repaired it on base and the next tome it flew it lost the same flap again. It was still in the hanger when I left.

That’s a minor scratch it’ll buff right out...
when I crushed my cab on a tree in Key West back in 2014 it cost me the insurance company $9k... So I feel that guy’s pain.

I wonder if the owner will get a nice new truck from the AIRLINE or will he be paid salvage value? Of course the lawyers will get a new house out of this incedent!!!!

Of course the lawyers will get a new house out of this incedent!!!

That is the main problem in this country......... I am sure he's up for a fight for anything over black book, hence he is trying to sell it outright. When my last Bronco was stolen and stripped, I had to produce pictures, receipts, etc.. to prove I had something more that the torn up carcass the adjuster looked at.. and after 3 mo of returning their checks I still lost $$$$. But they at least doubled the number when I told them to go get me another truck, I didn't want the money...
