I have a '99 3500 one ton with 5 speed, just put in 5th gear upgrade from blumenthals and a Lux clutch assembly. I have had a mushy clutch peddle that engaged near floor so I put in a new slave cylander thinking (dumb me) that was the problem. Now I can't get the truck in gear it will not release, I have to shut engine down put in gear start and go,not a good situation. I bled the system by pushing the slave cylander in out and had some bubbles come out of the resevoir as the install instructions said to do. . any help on bleeding out more air or is there something I am missing here??

Thanks:

Usually best to replace the whole hydraulic assembly as a unit. Had a shop here dinking with my '03 and damn near got myself killed when I exited the Interstate in NM because their "fix" came undone, dealer replaced whole ball of wax and been working great since. Just replaced the set up on my '93 as well.

Mmeir thank you for your helpful reply, I was trying to save some $$$ but I think your advise is the right thing to do here.

I will go to the Chrysler store tomorrow (Monday) and see if they have whole assemly... thanks again

Fred

Peter @ Southbend Clutch has a replacement that is better than stock AND CHEAPER than stock. Some southbend dealers even have them in stock.

If you do not use the one from SBC the use the assembly from the 97 and back trucks as the slave cylinder is much larger than the 98 and up models. Tha is the one alot of the guys running aftermarket units were using way back when... ..... Andy

Thanks Mad Bomber turns out I could find no stock unit at Dodge stores in OKC. So my truck still sits in yard. I contacted South Bend "Larry" very nice conversation, and, ordered one of his hydralic assemblies, should arrive Thursday so I will let all know the outcome of installation... . Fred
