We'd like to have a campout soon. How about the weekend of September 24/25/26? Ideas on a good location? I plan on making this a quarterly event -- that is 3/4's of the year!
Sorry couldn't make the get-together last week-end; camping vacation ...
Nice state parks in IA; no reservations:
Electric (30A) service - Wilson Island (near Missouri Valley); Prairie Rose (near Harlan); Lewis & Clark (near Onawa).
Full hook-ups available - Viking Lake (near Stanton); Lake Anita (near Anita and Atlantic).
And then there's the Army Corps of Engineers. They have at least one very nice park around Des Moines (can't remember the exact name right now - will post an update later... ) - reservable via their Web site.
I just camped at the state campground in Louisville, Nebr & it was a pretty nice place. It is on the Platte River. It has small lakes for fishing & a swimming beach. It has electric hook-ups & sites for tent camping. There is also a dump station. There is an on-site store. Not sure what all they sell. I just needed some of their expensive ice. I think it was about 14 bucks a night for a 30 amp site including the park pass.
had to pick a place; so this is it!!! Let's plan on a dinner BBQ/DeepFry Saturday night and a caravan to the dyno Sunday morning.
Other than that; free-for-all. My youngest has been asking to get to Worlds of Fun this summer; and I'd like to get to the GoodGuys show at the Speedway.
All-in-all a good weekend to be in the KC area!
Let's tell them "MWTDR" and "KC Dyno Days" when making reservations and try to get grouped together.
I just made reservations at the Trailside RV park and they told me that no one from our group had made reservations. The group rate is $20 per nite, and the non-group rate is $24 per nite. Hope I am not the only one down there. GeneA
