I have had the TSB done and my mileage is up about 2 mpg. The truck seems alot smoother but it definately smokes more (black, when shifting). Then again I live and drive at high elevations, 7,000-12,000 feet so there is less O2 but I thought this TSB would reduce smoke?

What I am saying is yes it is a diesel but the new Ford doen't smoke or does any of the mb diesels the new Volvo excavators John Deere's or what ever has correct boost and timing controls. Black Smoke means unburnt fuel in exhaust not in the combustion chamber.

I've followed several new ferds over the local passes here and when they're pulling a trailer - they smoke. In fact i've seen it blow accross two lanes of traffic when he saw me gaining on him. Diesels still smoke when they work hard.
