My 04.5 have an External Lift Pump??

I always thought the 04. 5 trucks had an in-tank lift pump. Installed my new AirDog 150 this weekend and much to my surprise there was no lift pump in the tank. It looks like the lift pump was on the back of the factory fuel filter canister. I unplugged it to disable it and all seems to be fine.



Where there any 04. 5 trucks that left the factory with an external lift pump or is my truck a freak of nature?

All the 04. 5's have an external lift pump located by the factory fuel filter. 05 started the in tank pump.

To clarify further, the 04. 5s have the fuel bowl mounted pump unless it was replaced with the in-tank version.



I believe the 03s and 04s are the only one's with this external pump... not the same as the 2nd gen.

Got it. Thanks, guys. I was under the impression that the 04. 5 trucks shared the same in-tank pumps as the 05 trucks.



Non-issue now as the AirDog 150 is in. Just have to tidy up some wiring and see how she runs.
