I have a quad cab 04. 5 auto 4x4 3. 73 that I have been hand calculating mpg on every tank since new. Including DTE vs actual, Overhead vs hand calculated mpg etc.
If you kinda figure im anal about this stuff its because I do statistics in my real job so running one more set of analysis in minitab is not that much more work. I also take the same trip towing a 5000lbs trailer once a month that is about 1000 miles total.
My truck now has just over 13000 miles.
Now for the data.
My previous 4 trips have got me the following 10. 481, 11. 283, 12. 315, 12. 42 for an average of 11. 62mpg for the 4 trips. The first trip I went mostly 75mph-77mph and now I backed off a bit to 72mph thus the difference.
This trip after the reflash I got 11. 73. Though my overhead now reads about 12. 9 as opposed to the 11 to 11. 5 before the reflash.
So the only thing my first trip documents is that now the overhead computer is over estimating my mpg.
So far I am not impressed.
