Finally got my 22. 5s installed :--) :--) :--) What a difference in RPMS at 70 and ride quality is better than I expected. I went with the Toyo's M120Z 255/70/22. 5 and are very happy with the road manners. :-laf :-laf . With the gearing in the G56 being as low as they are even with 3. 73's at 70 mph and seeming to need a 7th gear, with my 22. 5s it put me right in the sweet spot at 70. I have not gone on a long road trip yet so I cant post on the mileage just yet.

I will have to say if my truck were a 48re I would not be sure about putting a wheel and tire on this big due to the gear reduction and rolling mass... . with not being able to shift down to slow the rig and picking your own gears with a load.

I don't know about 22. 5 my truck has 19. 5 and my breaks have over a 100k on them. My wifes van has the original breaks and she just turned 92k.

Who said an exhaust break aint worth the money?

that looks awesome !!!!

Where did you get the wheels from? how much coin did they set you back?

Thanks JWaugh... I got the wheels form TEC Equipment here in Portland. They are a Volvo/Mack dealer. Total for everything I am in them about $4000 and everything is new.

I went with the Arrowcraft adapters and they are machined to the thousandths which makes a great application and easy to balance.

Nice Truck. I got the same rig as you without wheel tire combo. How did you balance those tire and wheels?

I thought about centramatics on the front but instead I put equal in the fronts.

typically the rears do not need balancing if they are installed and torqued correctly and lugs are tightened in the right fashion.

what is the rpm at 70. i see you have a four wheel drive did you have to lift the front? and you think a two wheel drive would have to be lifted much more than 2 inches? at least thats what ive heard. thanks

I went ahead and leveled my front 2" but it wasn't needed. If you want to run 22. 5s the smallest tires that are most commonly ran are the 255/70/22. 5 which are 36. 5" tall. Your fronts would only need a 2" level from what I have been told which to me seems like it would not be enough, full turn to turn without rubbing.

As for the rear I am not sure to be honest with you. I can tell you that once my camper is on the truck the tires may come close to the rear inner dual even being a 4X4... There is a website that will be able to answer all your questions regarding this conversion on a 2 wheel drive. It is Chromewheel.com.

I know they sell 22. 5s that are shaved to 22" so you can run any 22" tires. Most commonly these tires are not rated for 1 Ton use and no where near the tire life. Good luck and I do have more info if you may have questions.

I spent alot of time researching this conversion before I did it.

As for my RPMS they are now at 1700 @ 70. I am very happy with this and so far have seen 3MPG increase on highway after my speedo calibration.

How did you recalibrate your speedo?

I have an 07 with 35"s and need to recalabrate mine...

Looks great !

I have been kicking around the idea of putting 22. 5" floats on my 2500 4x4.

What is the quality of the adapter like?

I think I would go with new wheels too...

Are the tires you are using drives on all 4 corners?

How is that working out for you?

I went to Speedometer services here in Portland and they have a wheel dyno and software to find the revolutions on any vehicle.

The Arrowcraft adapters are machined to the thousanths and fit perfectly. They are very heavy duty and top notch all the way. I too was concerned about this and once I pulled them from the shipping box I was very impressed! I am a person for quality and these adapters are superb!

Tires are drives on all corners and have no complaints so far.

A little loss of power on the lower end but once she is chipped it will be non exsistent.

It is a software program... My 05 with 22's on 37" Toyo MT I had them calibrate also and at the time it was early 05 and they had to call a source and update to the new ECM codes. Since a had to go there twice they did it for free when they had the software updated. Great people to deal with!!! :D
