I modified a B&W Companion, using two bags just like the Ride Rite kit has. It pivots at the front, up and down at the back. The design absorbs for and aft movement as well as up and down. You can't even feel the trailer crossing RR tracks or dips! I tested it in a regular cab truck so I could see the hitch as I drove. At 65 mph I slammed on the brakes(trailer brakes off) and the weight of the pin still kept it down enough. I swerved recklessly to watch for flexing and such. The 1st prototype had only 1 bag and it worked fine except it took 100 psi to hold it up. I'll never go back to a solid hitch, even the wife said it was better. Oo.
