I bought a 2004 slt and the rail is almost right against the seat

cushion. After a half hour my ass and leg starts to fall asleep.

I only have 3500 miles on the truck.

Has anyone had this problem of not having enuogh cushion on there seat and what do you do to fix it?

SSteve

I got a wide arse and I feel the same problem you do, I just shift a little or move my left leg closer to the seat, like I'm sitting in a kitchen chair as opposed to stretching it out.

It also helps to take the wallet out of my left rear pocket.

Nick

I was the same way untill I starting taking objects such as my wallet out of my back pockets. Now no problem and I tilt the scale at 250.

I'd suggest going to your local tack shop and getting a saddle that will fit him. If you're sore, just think how sore HE is?

Hey guys I'm at 200lbs. and it's not my wallet. My seat has two rails that support it and there is hardly any cushion. For 35K $ you think they could put some padding in the seat.

SSteve

PS. My ass still hurts!!

2003 and 2004 seats are a lot smaller then the 2002 and 2000

chrysler cheepend them up. Its called making it cheeper.

Cost less to make.

sells for more.

Chrysler and the Gurman's make more money $$$$$$$$

My ass feels fine, even after ten hours in the saddle. Maybe it is the ass that needs fixing, instead of the seat?????? :D

"Maybe it is the ass that needs fixing, instead of the seat??????"

So I guess 3rd Gen owners have to have ass surgery. You can go to your favorite surgeon and ask for the 'AddAnAssToMe' special...

Then all 3rd Gen owners that had the surgery will start looking like J-Lo... or is it still Bennifer? :-laf

Dodge Needs New Seats

I just got back from a 16 hour drive in my 2003 Ram Laramie with Leather seats. My lower back and rear is killing me. While on my trip, I went on a side trip with my friend for 200 miles in his new Ford Diesel with Captian's Seats. Wow, what a difference in seat quality. Dodge needs to wake up and offer more than just the split type seat. Now in reality with the 6 speed shifter and all the plastic on the floor, who is going to ride in the center front seat anyway. Offer some nice bucket seats and a nice console.

Just my thoughts.

Hey Casey I'm 6'3 and 270, but I got noassatall as my wife puts it. My 99 seat feels like a lazyboy compared to my 03. I found a wedge shaped fam covered cushion appx 15" x 15" that is 2-4" thick. It helps and so does removing my wallet, which after the latest work on my 99 there's nothing in it. :D

Rework seat

Bill, pull the seat out and take it to an upholstry shop and ask them to put in their best foam, (firmest). Had to do that to many a Furd work truck as I drove lots of miles. If it works, take the bill to your dealer and make him pay for it! Ron

ass sore for sure.

Try one of those hemi-roid circular cushy seat cushions. Works fine for me where ever I go,and in what ever I drive in or ride in.

i love my seats in my chevy after 3 hours my back would hurt no worries now after several 7 hour trips to houston i never even though about my butt or back. i am happy.

I agree on the seats could be better in a truck that retails for $40,000 to $47,000 dollars. The seats in the 94's to 97's were much better. When they when to the Qud-cab and changed the seat design is when they got realy bad. I have a 99 and if i drive for more them 2 to 3 hr i can hardy walk when i get out, other wise i love the truck.

99 3500 Q-C 4-10 5sp, k&n flow master muffler, running boards, mud flaps.

THE POINT IS !!! We should get what we pay for. On the whole my truck is good. But all these little things add up. My seat bottom sucks. AND MY ELECTRIC LUBAR broke at 42,000 miles. Which is when they decided to tell me that 7/70 was engine and drivetrain only. OHHH and it is $700. 00 dollars to fix the lumbar NO LABOR INCLUDED. So NOW MY SORE ASS is accompanied by my sore back. WOULD I TRADE MY TRUCK? HELL NOOOOOOOOO!!! But i would like my 40G's worth!!!!!
