I thought about changing to the flag also but decided against it. Mine features 2 symbols. One that unites without doubt and one that divides although perhaps not in this forum. They represent something to me and many other Americans that may be described with one word, liberty. Our liberty was attacked Tuesday. I fear many of our liberties may be attacked in the coming months, sold to us with the blood of the victims of these very cowardly acts. Anything that is done to restrict any of our rights or liberties will be a victory for our enemies whether they be foreign or domestic, states or shadowy organizations. Don't get me wrong, I love our flag and all it stands for. But let not the blood spilled over 200 years ago be for not. They fought a long protracted war on some of the very soil where Tuesdays attacks took place so that all Americans would have a better place to live. With freedom to speak out and express ourselves even if unpopular. Freedom to worship, or not to if you so desire. To assemble. To not have soldiers quartered in out homes. To be guaranteed the right to a fair and impartial judiciary when accused. To not be forced into self incrimination. And last but not least the right to keep and bear arms should any of the above rights be infringed so that we may defend ourselves and our cause should it become necessary. I know my post is off topic but feel the need to be heard.
Its easy for me to get on a soap box here as most of the TDR members I know share many of the same opinions I do regarding our rights. My message, we are hurt, saddened, and angered by what has taken place. But don't forget the things that have made America great and help keep it that way. If I get flamed for this then so be it, let me have it. I would be honored.
