@#$$%$^&**(&^%$#@!

I was t boned in the home depot parking lot tonight. :{ :{

1. No body was hurt. :)

2. Severly bruised ego, no accidents in 11 + yrs. :eek:

3. I is still not at fault, ( thank god). We both have state farm insurance. This will be interesting.

4. Both my drivers door and quad cab door are shot. No broken glass.

He had a 93 dakota and his front bumper road up over my side step tube causing all of the damage.

Luckily he was only going 5-10mph with my 15mph. He admitted it was his fault and he didn't see me. (heads lights on and large truck??? :confused: ) I was between a rock and hard place with no where to go as I had parked cars on my right side.

He was an older gentleman in his 70s. He was looking at a on coming car but failed to look back and see me. This all happen tonight with rain and night.

It still is quite drivable and the drivers door opens and closes, I haven't tried the quad door yet.

Sorry I had to rant, but my baby is hurt... . :(

You know what's sad... This is exactly why I don't drive mine very often. I have never had a vehicle that I felt so strongly about and to hear this breaks my heart. When not towing mine gets driven sunny days and Sundays. I feel for you Randy.

good luck with state farm... ran into that situation around 10 years ago. same agent on each side. bunch of douche bags if you ask me. wont ever EVER do business with them again for multiple reasons.

glad you are all ok though.

I was a witness to an accident 6months ago in Washington St. Both had Safeco. Safeco agent called for my version of events. I asked about who determines fault for the insurance company. According to agent, if two different insurance companies they hire an arbitrator who determines fault. Since both were Safeco, it's upto the company to determine fault. In the end they sided with 3 witnesses that all reported same event. I had flagged a cop down who also issued a ticket on the scene.

Both with the same insurance company, I am sorry but BOHICA.

Hopefully it gets fixed with out hassles, or problems.

We were involved in a wreck that totaled the car (different insurance companies), her insurance said we have a $19. 99 limit a day for a rental car. I called my insurance company they said similar car to what we had, is what we are allowed. He said to rent something similar and it will be paid, this was just a way for them to save some money.

A while later I was bumped from the rear, needed some touch up paint, so overnight in the body shop, two day car rental. This time same insurance company. I was told $24. 99 a day limit, no similar Durango rental? Last time I was allowed a similar type car. Does not apply when same company, was his reply.

Ahh Man That Sucks! I Hope Your Baby Gets Fixed And The Way That You Want It. Don't Them Do Half A** Job As They Will Try To Go The Cheapest Way Out. And It Won't Be To Your Standard. Hang In There It Will Be Ok

I will be going into the "certified" auto shop on friday for an estamate.

If it were real easy, they just replace the drivers door and rear door and call it a day. That is providing the pillar is not bent. If the pillar is bent, who knows?????

Allstate also informed me that the other driver is claiming something about I was the cause of the accident. Needless to say, I said bunk! :eek: We shall see what the final results are.

If allstate plays too much, I will drop them from all of my insurances.

Rotty, sorry to hear about your T-bone. Sucks, huh? I had my new 06 T-boned a week after I got it. Only had 427 miles on it. The bozo hit it at an angle in the pass. rear door and slide down the side till he bounced off the outside dual, took out half the pass. side. :{ And good luck with allstate. I have heard nothing but horror stories about them.

Well some good news and more news.

The other driver admitted to hitting me and he was at fault. :)

All state called me on thur and said they would cover everything including rental, zero $0. 00 deductible. :D

Estamate is $3200 and I finally tried to open the rear door. No such luck. It is jammed hard. :{

I am also replacing the front bumper with a buckstop to eliminate others and making think twice before they pull out in front on me. Then I can put my milemarker winch and air horns :D (train horns) back on.

I will keep posted. .

That sux! It is also kinda ironic, all the damage on one of my trucks and most on the newest all came from Home Depot. The older one has been hit twice while it was parked in the lot. I hate going there just because of that, not so much because they can't tell their *** from a hole in the ground.

If this makes you feel any better I had a wreck a few years ago in my stang. Both me and the person who hit me had progressive insurance. I figured it was going to make it a bad deal but it wasn't. They handled it very well, car had lots of custom parts and custom paint.

Update:

My baby is back and looking good. :D

Now just to add the buckstop bumper, extra lights, air horns, hydraulic winch, etc... . :D

I have had serious withdraws not driving my truck... :eek:

It is my all around vehicle, work truck, hauling materials, dogs, etc...

I had to drive a PT cruiser for almost two weeks, YUCK!

It barely even get 250 miles on a tank, no power, no smoke :--) and automatic.

Glad you came out okay. Many years back, by sister was sitting three cars back from a stop sign when this kid learning to drive a stick comes around the corner. He was so futzed up worryin' aout his pedals he forgot to let the wheels straighten up. Hit her three times. Once on the left front wheel, then about midships. Third time was a charm. Hit her little Ranger just ahead of the rear axle and set her up on her side. When I got there she was standin' up on the passenger side window glass sreamin' for somebody to get her out of there. Only sheet metal on her little truck that wasn't stove in were the hood and the tailgate.

Same insurance co (Nationwide). Dontchya know they wanted to fix it. It was a six-month battle to get them to total it.

Glad to hear you're happy with your repairs!

I'm glad to hear that everything worked out. I know how upset I am if I notice a new scratch on mine!! I couldn't imagine that happening! :{

Ohh Lord be areful of the "certified" repair facilities my friend. I was in a similar situation here with another Dodge product, and the "certified" repair facility refused to source the repair parts from Dodge, they insisted that the parts they received from their "certified" distributor was every bit as good. When I saw what they considered "every bit as good" was actually an ill fitting thin lookalike that was going to need alot of fitting, my attorney got involved and Allstate/Certified collision shop backed off and sourced the parts from Dodge. Believe me when I tell you that insurance companies (and their "certified" repair facilities) have gone to great lengths to minimize their liability and they will install an inferior product unless directly and vigorously challenged. That is YOUR truck, your baby, you didn't buy it with junk sheetmetal on it, there is no reason on this earth why a "certified" repair facility should be allowed to do that to you.

my humble . 02

Well, as it turns out, I was sitting next to the adjuster/repair tech at the repair facility when they made the called for the parts and it was to a dodge warehouse. So I did get the correct parts. Thanks.

I just also got a reimbursement check for the rental car. Totally covered.

In my case, State Farm has been on the up and up.

I also had some other dings and dents repaired at the same time (separate bill), so my baby looks good again.

I just got my buckstop bumper friday and will install in on monday. :D

Next will be the air horns, (train type, ear busting loud horns :--) ), These will be for id10ts who deserve them,(ricers who think that you can stop on a dime from 65 mph with 10-15k load) not the everyday stuff. :-laf

Also have some extra lights (4" an 6") in bumper so I can see at night. I do not like these new fan dangled head lights that don't shine high enough so you can light up the reflective street signs.

It is bad enough that I am blind in one eye and can see out the other... . Old age... . :(
