Jim, nice post.

I have one question.

How does the auto they 1st broken down in your original post compare to what they are advertising in the back of the TDR Mag?

I find the concept of an engineered system more favorable than piecing together a system in my driveway. Their ad in the back of the TDR Mag made from some good reading and peaked my interest.

Jim,

You mentioned that the transmission was slipping. With that much HP what tends to be the weakest link in the autos? (lockup, 3rd gear clutch pack, od. ) Thanks for the info, great posts.

my 1st ranny was a off the shelf unit with a lsx convertor with a heat treated output shaft. i am still using a lsx convertor today. this is the same transmission that is talked about in the back of the tdr magazine.

i have never had my lockup clutch slip. i believe the weakest link is the 3rd clutch pack. although we think we have it fixed.

you are way over my head, i just try and break stuff. my 2nd transmission was slipping the 3rd gear clutch's. my 3rd transmission clutches were doing great, i just had no apply pressure so they weren't hooking up very good. i thought it was 4th gear also but i was told it was still the 3rd gear clutches that were causing 4th to slip. we had a problem with the rubber seals in the transmission. if you have any ?'s feel free to call steve at bd.

Thanks Jim.

If I remember correctly, the third gear clutch pack was what I was told was the weak link in the 47RE trans also. Bomb on. :D
