Really

Actually, the Cummins returns some warm fuel back into the tank via overflow. This in turn warms the fuel.

Navistar/Ford worked a longtime to get its V-8 diesel to be both dependable and competitive with the Cummins. I would not have given two cents for one ten years ago. (I wouldn't now either, unless I had to. ) But put out a pretty good engine/truck now. Know a few people with Powerstrokes going on 200,000+ miles and relativly good maint records.

The Duramax is doing much better than originally thought. Except for fuel leaks, lopey idles, and the ocaisional head failure(via fuel injector lines). Wouldn't pay the money they are asking for them though... ... ... .

Like my old 12 valve non-computerized, noisy, hard-pullin, 95 Dodge Cummins. It has soul!!!!!!Bring on all the new kids on the block, the great equalizer "The rockies and a load" will show them the light... ...

Dont knock the Powerstroke too much because a lot of Dodge guys are driving them since Ford is the only manufacturer that makes a decent diesel in a Crew Cab. I like the Cummins better than the PSD in my wife's truck, but since DC doesnt make anything bigger than a quad cab... ... Hello FORD

The Duramax actually has a small "radiator" fuel cooler in line just before it returns to the fuel tank to cool the return line. I wish it could be bypassed in the winter and it may prevent any type of gelling in the tank/lines when it is way cold.

I have never had my dodge fuel gell-up, even in wyoming last year at this time when temps went to 57 below:--) of course they run 50:50 fuel there, and I plugged it in when ever I could.

Tex;

Is He dumber for marrying your sister or buying a Ford PowerStroke?

My Brother just got a new Powerstroke. That makes his current diesel livery 8 units. His last diesel pickup was an old 85 Ford. Still regrets trading it for a 95 gas job and fixed that by getting the Powerstroke. He weighed the options and bought a Ford.

My brother-in-law drives a B5. 9 powered school bus and loves it. He owned a 6. 2 Chevy and got rid of it.

To each their own?

I love these stories of the head gaskets and aluminum heads melting. I have 10 brother in laws with the KILLER DOWEL PIN problem. 5 of the them the block split into 6 pieces. I have another buddy who was driving down the street and the front end started THE DEATH WOBBLE then the KILLER DOWEL PIN broke the block and caused him to rear end a new D-MAX and total the Dodge. The guy in the D-MAX was ****** at the scratch in his rear bumper.

Wow 10 brother-in-Laws, you must be from Appalachia :D . Sure they weren't driving Goats :)

JohnE: Well, he actually is a very nice guy. Poor taste in trucks though ;) , as far as my sister, lets just say I've known her longer and he'll find out ;).

He plans to drive it down to visit me (show off) but he'll have to park in the street because I have one of those "Dodge Parking Only" signs in the driveway:D

This was meant to be a light-hearted post, hope no ones feelings get hurt :)

I like the opportunity to make fun of my Brother in Law. He can't find his butt with both hands and a flashlight so he's kinda fun to have around to joke about. And he owns two Phords. What more could I ask for. Not hurt feeling here, TD. Good to hear from you.

Stepson

My stepson is a Ford salesman. I told him I would rather have a sister in a house of ill repute, than a son with a Ford. I did not go over well. However he does let me test drive all the new cars (on loan for a day). The other day I took a Rouse Mustang for a day. But then came in and told him to quit and go to work for the local Dodge dealer, I just have to get a Viper for a day!!!!!!!!Hes a good kid, but has no taste in cars/trucks.

I'd rather drive a Ford, and have my sister in a house of ill repute, than have a stepfather who votes Democrat. :D Poor kid. How much did they give you for your sister, anyway, Champane? :D

Sorry.

Sorry to disapoint you BH, but my sister was eaten by the hogs at a young age. Leaving me a only child. Told her not to feed the hogs in that Ford.
