I got my new smarty in today and I put it on #1 just to see what it was all about and WOW  I cant believe how great this thing is!!!!!! Then I went to #3 and I dont think I need to go any farther than that!!!! This thing is truely an amazing product!!!! If I am in any gear higher than 3rd I can put the pedal to the medal and the stock clutch just cant seem to hold on!!!!! :D

I think I am going to just leave it on #3 for a while and when I grow a set, I will go to a higher setting. Not only is the power great but for the first time in forever I am able to smoke out any idiot that needs it!!!! Some young kid in a Camaro pulled up beside me this morning with his stereo cranked up so loud that I couldnt even hear the rattle of my Cummins. So I eased up a little bit and just gave the pedal a quick tap and blew a nice cloud right in his window. :-laf He pulled up next to me and gave me a go to hell look and then acted like he wanted to race. So when the light turned green I took off and was pulling away from him and when he was about even with my exhaust I shifted to 4th and filled him up again!!!!! :-laf

Marco, if you happen to read this... I just wanted to say thanks for a great product, you went above and beyond with the smarty and it was well worth the wait!!!!!!

I love mine also- got it and loaded #9 and haven't looked back. Works very well. Clutch doesn't slip either :p (stock). I need time to play with it some more and try out other settings. Nick.

It must be made clear that most auto trucks will not be able to use above the 30 hp setting and no auto or manual transmission will be able to handle the settings above 100 hp.

The smarty needs to be used with care and caution.

Thanks

I don't know why mine doesn't slip, truck doesn't have that many miles on it-22k. It feels stronger than my tst on 6x6 and the egts don't out run the tach. W/tst I think the rail psi would drop fast and have a hard time catching up , the motor would pop and carry on if I didn't roll into it. With smarty I can stomp on it and run into triple didgets without it getting to hot - nice work marco! :) Nick.

Its a CaTCHER!

Well, got the Smarty, put in #3, and right away the clutch don't like it in 5th or 6th.

Got an apointment for Wednesday to get rid of the stock and install a better clutch. . Wonder if I should get a DD clutch or single would be ok if I am going to only run #3 program.

It holds #1 setting most of the time, but would like to be able to run #3 with no worries. . I have 53K miles on the stock clutch. . Oh well, if you play you pay!

I really want to install a clutch that will handle #9!!! I know I wont run on #9 all the time but I really want to know how it feels. Does anyone know how much torque is produced on each of the settings?

AGrubbs,

It is time for a phone call to Peter at South Bend Clutch, tell him what you have and where you want to go power wise and he'll be happy to take your money.

I havn't read that much about the g56, only a few posts about aftermarket clutch developments. Is the holding capacity alot lower than the nv5600- stock vs stock? I was driving home and thinking about it. Just a thought. Nick.

Got a question. I'm thinking about getting the smarty so I can run it with my tst/ez stack. Since my tst doesn't have the ability to turn off the timing, would I run the smarty on the non-timing settings? Not sure if I were to run the smarty with the timing, that it would be over kill. Sounds like this would be $$$ well spent.

well the nv5600 clutch is alot stronger being that it has a real flywheel. the g56 uses what is called a dual mass flywheel setup wich is very thin, like an automatic transmission flexplate. they went this route so it would be quiter, or something like that. in my opinion it turned out to be weaker. it was built to handlethe power of a stock cummins. nothing more.
