"Happy Father's Day"

Tankless water heaters?

I am probably going to get in trouble for this. I am Redneck Toadstomper's daughter and I want you to know my dad.

My dad is the man that;

Has unconditionally loved my mom for nearly 30 years and me for 16. Has always provided for and protected us. He is private and mysterious to even mom and me. He used to work for the government but won't talk about it. Someday I hope to know more about that time in my dad's life. He is loud and wild and funny. He is reserved and quiet. There is little gray in his life, mostly black and white. He refuses to accept excuses but understands that mistakes will happen - once. He gets mad at the word "can't" and those who use it. He is politically incorrect and and Mom says that he is so conservative that he makes Rush look like a raving liberal. He was deeply saddened on 9-11 and seems sad even now. He loves his country but worries about his government. He loves to embarress Mom and me by itching his rear in public and saying aaaaahhhhhhhh real loud as he itches. He makes it a point to tease me as much as possible. In front of my friends is what he likes the best. My boyfriend really likes my dad but is so scared of him that if my dad acts like he is mad, my boyfriend's voice quivers when he talks. I command great respect from the boys at school. Dad makes me feel safe. He is up and down all night-every night checking doors, looking in on me, and sometimes sitting outside in total darkness. I have never heard him say "I love you" to mom or me, but there is no dought in our minds. He enjoys people but in a strange way keeps a long distance. He seems to be the most content when he is alone. My dad is my teacher, my mentor, my security, my hero, my life!!! His temper is even but can explode but not at Mom and I. I'll never understand why but he hates Christmas. He is content to let mom and I do up the house but refuses to shop or be shopped for. But we have no dought. He has little contact with his family and even less with Mom's. No problems just isn't comfortable. I suspect he may be a little uneasy around mom and I sometimes. But we have no dought.

Dad, I love you!!!!!

Wow, that is really nice. He seems like the kind of guy most of us like to be around as well. Good for you RTS!

An extremely beautiful tribute to her father!!!!!

Toadstomper,, If I had a little girl who wrote such a touching letter to me, my buttons would be popping off my shirt with pride.

You're a lucky man!!!

I found this post a few minutes ago. No, she isn't in any trouble although I may ground her for 25 years when she gets home from church. We talk about everything. There are few subjects that are off limits. It's funny what people will tell strangers when they speak from the heart. I probably should be a little more flexable. I may be too protective, but I have seem more first hand than I ever wanted to. The events of 9-11 did sadden me very deeply. I didn't realize it showed. I'm glad she feels safe --- that's part of my job description. Her boyfriend has no reason to fear me. He knows that if he allows harm to visit my daughter that I will pop that pimple on top of his shoulders.

That was a very nice thing for her to do. Very smart to think about posting here too.

But let me say. That boy thinks he's got it bad..... HA!

My girlfriends dad is about 6'3-6'4, about 280lbs. , and is the manager of the sportings good store here in town. He is licensed to carry too. Colt 45 on his hip when he leaves in the morning and on it when he gets home in the afternoon. :--)

Think I've got it a little more worse than him!:-laf

P. S. her 22 year old bro has been one of my best friends for the past 3 years and he made it real clear on our first date that if I broke her heart he'd break my neck, & he's 6'0 or so and 280lbs

A Dad of girls is a different job then if you got only boys. I have two girls 21 & 16 and through the years I may have seemed overprotective but lets face it as men we know what we were thinking when we saw nice looking young ladys! The older girl is married to a martial arts dude so Pops can relax a bit. The young one wonders why girls are getting pregnant so young and making lifelong discisions so young... . Mom is thee best when it comes to teaching right from stupid!

I wonder what the Dad of that boy "kidnapped" by his teacher and taken to a hotel in Vegas tells his boy? Does he say "that a boy, your a man now" or does he hold him and tell him "all will be O. K. and its not your fault, Papa will always love you". Hummm

Mike

P. S. Redneck, Where are you in AR, I got a sister near Bentonville, (Pea Ridge). Its at the base of the Ozarks.

Miss Toadstomper:

Congratulations on your dad. He sounds like a mans man and the kind of man I'd like to know. He is the kind of dad I tried to be to 3 girls and 2 boys. Don't know if any of them know it or not. You sound like the kind of daughter any man would be proud to have.

The best of everything to you both!

Charley :)
