Need help!! How to set timing on Powerstroke

GM "Fuel Pincher" Diesel?

If I had a hand in D. C. 's HD Ram development.....

The 06' line up would have a C&C option, 4500 series with GVWR's of 30,000 lb, 7 speed stick w double o. d. ( same ratio's as NV 5600 but one higher gear than o. d. 1 ), Eaton 6 speed auto with grade braking feature , 19. 5" wheels with alcoas optional. Dana 135 rear axle with electric locker. Standard ratio of 4:10 with 4:56 and 3:73 options. 2 wd low range feature. 50 gallon fuel tank with an aft axle 50 gallon option, Exhaust brake with both transmissions, Built in electric brake controller with two 7 wire chords, Gauges: Pyro, Boots, FP , Trans T-case, front and rear diff, and the Cummins computer like the big trucks for the engine info, high idle and timer shut down, a better seconday braking system to park besides the E-brake. Regular and QC with more frame length options.

So are there any of the ORIGINAL CHRYSLER GUYS LISTENING? You know, you guys who built the 1st Dodge Cummins ?? This is a message for you !!!

I would love to see a truck with those options, but D/C's answer to those demands is; go and buy a FL60 (they own that also).

Oo. I'll take one, with the option to buy a second within 45 days after the initial purchase. Can I get it in Patriot Blue also? Maybe with a Light Gray interior? :D

Sounds like a sweet rig. Hope they do consider this in the near future. Love my 3500HD, but the rig you describe is more inline with the business I am starting.

What would most people do with that much truck. Maybe that's why DC doesn't build one. I think that DC just does not feel that there is enough market to invest in that kind of production. If they feel they can make money with it, they'd go for it. Until then they will just let Furd keep that market.

At the time I purchased my 95 Dodge/Cummins I remember Chrysler/Dodge (that was before DC) making a statement that they would not go into the Quad Cab market because it was too small of a market and that they would just let Furd and Chevy have that one. They were wrong as we all know now. Grizzly

Pull my 16K GVWR 5th wheel. Ref Ford F-450, F-550, GM Kodiak series, etc. that are showing up in this service more and more frequently. There HAS to be a middle ground between our trucks and the $100K Freightliner FL-60/FL-70 or Peterbilt 335 custom-built RV haulers.

I would just like a 5 or 6 spd auto! oh..... and a TRUE 4 door!! oh and a cab chassis option... ... . oh and a exhaust brake on the auto..... oh and a factory installed KORE suspension! :-laf :D

I agree with Rusty, have you ever tried pricing an FL 60 in 4wd ? It's a scary price tag. Plus the frame height is too high for most of our trailers as there set up now. You think there is not enough market ? Take a look at how many 450's and 550's there are around, imagine if you could get a similar tuck with cummins power ???

Oh and don't forget , a lot of us are towing well in excess of our CGVWR(3500 dually's included ) on a daily basis. Like I said I would pay a premium pirce for a truck with these specs. ARE YOU LISTENING D/C ?!?!?

Hmm, you can get a F650 with a HPCR cummins in it, in a cab and chassis configuration, i dont beleive its available in a 4 wheel drive version however. My truck at work is a 2005 F650 with a HPCR cummins and an allison 5 speed automatic. Ours came as a cab and chassis and a Vulcan pro-loader 21 foot steel rollback was added to it. I will admit the frame height is kinda high on it to pull a 5er or a goose, but the vehicle is available nevertheless. Some of the cool features are a cruise switch controlled PTO idle speed, available electronic actuated PTO.

My only complaint about the truck is that its kinda low on power (215HP) for a 14,000 pound truck. So it could use some uprating, but the dependability of the cummins is what made us purchase the truck.

/end rant

Just my 2 cents

If you and Rusty and others want to pay the big bucks for something like that, go for it. Just don't complain about how much diesel it uses and the price of diesel. I dare say most of us don't need such a huge rig and quite frankly don't want it. I know, to each his own. Maybe the problem is some of us have too big of a 5er or camper that could use a bigger more powerful truck. What is wrong with a 24' 5er?. Why do some of us need a 36 footer with two slide outs? How many times a year do you use those big trailers and where do you go with them? That's why I got rid of my 29' 5er, It was too big. OK I have a big camper, 11'-3", but it's not 36'. We use our camper 4 or 5 times a year to go camping and fishing and once a year to go on a two or three week vacation. Grizzly

I never did complain about fuel, nor would I. My tucks are used to deliver my product in very difficult terrain. 4WD diesel trucks are the ultimate for our application. All I'm asking for is another option to offer us ( and I think there are alot of US ) for that gap between the bigger trucks and our current 3500 series. As far as what size of R. V. people need? thats personal preferance. I am not going to stand and judge anyone who wishes to pull a 36 or 38 or whatever size R. V. no matter how much or little they use it ,its thier business. If I found a market I could exploit in my business I'll investigate it and listen to my customers to try to give them what they want. Its just good business sense. I've been hearing the same thing on the TDR for quite a while now from many members who could use more truck but still want to stay with a pickup style size truck. Why would anyone have an issue with giving the customers what they want ??

Grizzly,

It's really simple. If you don't want a larger truck, don't buy a larger truck. What you want/need, however, shouldn't have any impact whatsoever on what others of us would purchase if it were available. It's called a free market..... ;)

Man, how many times have I seen a thread like this. I'll be an old man by the time DC comes out with a 5500.

But I would like to see the next size engine, ISC, to be an option with a Road Ranger setup. I would just like to see a massively increased payload capacity. I would just like a dumping flatbed that can hold 12K.

Oh yeah I also want a MINIMUM OF 1000 hp and 3000 lb ft. torque period!!!!

Nothing less will surfice.
