Did some pulls today on a Dynojet with my new EZ box hooked up. Y2K 2500 ETC -DEE- 2WD-3:54
265-75-16's -BD Stage II Injectors- Psychotty+K&N- BD Boost Module and Elbow. My Dyno numbers before adding the box were: HP-227/ Torq. 454 at the rear wheels. EGT was 1100 D. pre-turbo. This was with just the injectors, boost module and elbow (30# of boost). I don't have a scanner to post all the graphs so I'll just give you the numbers.

After hooking up the Edge EZ Box:

LEVEL 1: (At the rear wheels)

Max. HP & T = 284 - 544. 01 EGT=900 30# boost

LEVEL 2:

Max. HP & T = 285 - 544. 33 EGT=900 30# Boost

Level 3:

Max. HP & T = 285 - 541. 31 EGT=900 30# Boost

The Torque was 540 at 1457 rpm and stayed in the 500's all the way up to 2900 rpm, regardless of box setting. The HP peak (270-285) occured between 2800/3000 rpm, also regardless of box setting.

Is this a little strange or what? Just what is the purpose of the different pin settings if the dyno readings are almost identical no matter the position? Overall,I am happy with the power increases. You can really feel it pull now, but I am concerned about those pin settings. Any comments?

When I ordered the injectors from BD they recommended their stage II's. I don't know if they are the same or equal to say DD's Stage II or others. My brake retarder is from BD also.

I do not have an EZ box yet but from what i understand the different setting don't change anything except for how much boost you see before the fueling starts. Thats what i have gathered sofar.

Yes, Clark is right. With the EZ module the different jumper settings are just to change the point in the RPM's (amount of boost being acheived)when the extra fuel is kicked in. The power output will be the same. You just determine if you want the extra fueling early in the RPM's or later.

The adjustable levels on the EZ are only to delay the onset of fueling. They make no difference in HP as your dyno results show. The Power Edge box is the one were the different levels make more and more HP.

I can't tell from the dyno results which level does what since boost values were not recorded except as an absolute value. Does fueling begin at increasingly higher boost pressures at level 2 and 3 as compared to level 1?

I didn't rec any instructions with mine either, I ended up e-ing Power Edge , and this is the reply I got :

Hello Colin

Fueling starts at the same point in all 3 levels. the difference is the amount of fuel given.

Level 1 we decrease amount of additional fueling over stock until 20 psi
Level 2 we decrease amount of additional fueling over stock until 15 psi
Level 3 we decrease amount of additional fueling over stock until 10 psi
timing is the same for all 3 levels

has the wastegate been disabled??
if you want to try something out. Plug off the line completely to see how much boost is built then that will tell you if the elbow is woirking right if the boost turns out to be alot more than call me or e-mail and I will send you out a new one.
vis grips on the rubber line
or 1/8 plug where the elbow goes
sorry about the problem make sure you let me know what happens

ps... if you see my message in blue and you know why PLEASE let me know why its freaken blue?

Thanks,
Aaron

TomB, those numbers would be great if it was with the EZ alone, with the stage II injectors, I also think you should be seeing more HP. Your post indicates that with the injectors, boost elbow and module, you were seeing 227 HP. Did you ever have the truck on a dyno before the injectors went in ? I would think that stage II injectors would have at least pushed you up to 250 or 275 HP without the EZ. Any suggestions from the pro's ? I know, I know... buy DD #ad

On a Mustang Dyno EZ plus DD II's = 299hp So his numbers are pretty close. Hes got an ETC so hes only got a 235hp motor, not the ETH (even tho he has the 6 speed).
