Dealer servicing questions

And, it's made some people crazy.

One of my daughters friends is selling a '97 1500 Ram. V-6, 5-Speed, base model, rubber mat, painted grille and bumpers, crank windows, no power door locks. It's had a cheapo paint job that's already peeling, tailgate's beat up, passenger window needs a regulator, A/C Controls are busted, dash has a cover but the main dash is all broken up, 80K miles. He's asking $7500.

A fellow has a 2000 S10, base model, no frills, 4 cylinder, 5-speed, 110K miles. He's asking $7500 for it, too.

Made me pretty crazy selling the old girl over texts. She deserved better than that
Nah its basically how it's done anymore.

I just bought a 2021 Promaster 2500 via Text.

I did have to send the dealer one email but the sales person was all via text. Got the window sticker, buyers order, and total all over text and set up for pick up tomorrow.

Private sale is much different then a dealer who has a stacked hand as getting vehicles right now is rough and it's not too good being a buyer.

Luckily this dealer had all the NYC Macy's Thanksgiving RAMS, so they had good stock, it's got a few parade miles on it but no worries there.

I had a guy fly down from Anchorage to buy a truck over text message. Sent some extra pics and such, but seemed a little odd. Funny thing is that having known some Alaska folks I wasn’t concerned, but had it been a Californian I wouldn’t have believed the deal would actually happen.

We sold our Toyota Tercel 4 wheel drive wagon to a couple in Juneau Alaska years ago. Lady called on a Seattle add. She flew down, complete the transaction and headed to Costco to fill it with supplies and was going to drive to Prince Rupert and take the ferry to Juneau. She was tickled pink to find the Tercel in show room condition. She said they had done the same thing a few years earlier for a Chevy Blazer.

Not all of us in California are bad people. If you cut off Los Angelas and San Francisco, everyone else that lives here are red blooded Americans

I hate texting but I guess it is nice to have record of what was said and agreed upon if there was an issue? I still would have liked at least one person-person call in there though.
