I made my own mount, here are some pictures. Been thing about making them available to the public.

They can mount on either side of the steering wheel and can be attached with High strength double sided tape. I used the tape and then added the screws just to make sure it didn't go anywhere. I'm thinking about shorting up the mount, so it will not have the leverage weight on it. However, the Attitude doesn't weigh much. Let me know what you think.

Any way possible of bending / forming the bracket where the Attitude Monitor bracket could be attached behind the radio bezel, and be viewable slightly left of the radio itself ?

Sort of like this?

No. I removed the heater vent cover (the thing that lets you adjust the direction of the air coming out of the vent) and made up a simple aluminum "U" bracket that slides in there and bolts inside the vent itself. It can be removed and the vent cover replaced and no one would ever know anything was installed there.

The downside is you lose directional control of the air at that vent. But this has been a non-issue for me.

I met up with TDR member RankRam this weekend and he was using his XM radio mount for the Attitude display. It looked like it came from the DC factory with this setup! I think it replaced the cigar lighter IIRC.

Yep the mount replaced my cigar lighter.

Hey Julius I had a great visit with ya.

The truck is running great btw.

It is oh so quiet now. :D

I hope you had a safe trip back to Elko.

BIG BOB,

FYI Gauge Works has been getting as lot of heat from us on the Attitude mounts about adding a gauge mount to it so that folks can add a fuel pressure gauge etc. Well they have done it, it's a full A pillar mount like the one you have that replaces the stock A pillar, it has the Attitude mount built into it like the one that has been available for a while and one location for a gauge. Color matched and bolts tight on.

Still waiting for costs and such but should be around the price for the 3 gauge A pillar like you have now.

Mark @ DPPI

Mark,

Will it be a 3 gauge mount with an additional place for the Attitude?

BIG BOB,

No it's just going to have one gauge location and the Attitude location.

Mark @ DPPI

It would seem to me that they would have enough room for 2 gauges plus the Attitude.

Any more news on the new pillar mount for the Attitude?

This is where I mounted mine, using Heavey Duty Velcro on the back side of the monitor. Wire comes up thru the top of the lower panel. It does not interfere with the air vent, and is very secure.

Big Bob's mount looks pretty raw to me, like home made.

I've seen much better mounts on this web site. Think I'll pass on this one.

I must admit that this is the one and only at this time. There is double side tape that holds it in place, I put the screws in to make sure it stayed in place, it probably would have been fine without the screws, but I like to be sure rather than sorry. Some modification are already in place, for instance, shorten the length of the mount to reduce the weight leverage of the Attitude, and using a 20# double sided tape without the screws.

As far as the "pretty raw", it must be your eyes, it's made of 10 gauge steel by a professional to my specs. All angles bent with a brake for sharp percisely formed angles. Then all edges broke and smoothed, and finally powdercoated.

Just for helping me refine this mount, what would you suggest? Your expertise is appreciated.

Must be my computer screen, but I could make better angles in 10 gauge steel using the curb on my sidewalk. I just think it looks home made with the double sticky tape, hardware store screws and overall design. There are a lot of more professional A-pillar mount set ups available without having to resort to this backyard engineering.
