I laid this up out of fiberglass using the Attitude module as a mould. I drilled and tapped the fiberglass and bolted the metal arm on and then drilled and tapped the plastic and mounted the unit to the side of the dash. No double stick tape to let go in the Arizona heat.
I didn't have very good luck with Edge's ball and arm mount. The set screws would not hold it in place and if you hit it, it would just flop around. Hope yours works better.
The ball joints are to flat in the sockets. The pressure from the allen screws want to push the ball out of the socket. A little bit of dremel work to add some depth in the side of the socket seems to have made the joint more solid. If that doesn`t work I will drill and tap for a 2/56 pin through the socket.
There is plenty of clearance from the door so no worrys there.
