Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) My engine is louder after new vp44 was installed, why?

Truck just didn't seem like itself, noisy and loud. Sounds like the motor is about to come apart. Downshifts a little more and seems to stumble sometimes. Temp flucatuates too. Not much, just a little. Fuel mileage is terrible too.

did you do the install? make sure that the correct key was installed in the drive gear. it has to match the same number on the pump.

Dealer did the install. That was my first thought, dealer put the wrong key in.

What's the dealer have to say about the situation?

I mentioned it to them, I said I want to change the fuel filter and thermostat before I bring it back. They didn't seem to have any issues at looking at it again. They did say I would have to take a ride with the tech this time.

From all that you've described, if it were me I would hold their feet to the fire until it was right. JMO.

Timing Problem! Have the dealer to check the timing.

The dealer always took good care of me, I can always talk to the owner if need be but never have i had a problem that got that far. I am figure timing or a injector hanging up.
