What should I lube the kingpin with?

The reason I bought my truck, finally arrived. Here's some pictures from when I was checking bed clearances. They still have to do the prep, so I'll be taking it home on Monday Oo. Oo. Oo. Time to hear some grunt from under the hood!

That should break her in!

Can't wait till I get my hitch in and a few more miles on the rear end... should pull like a dream compared to my 78 SRW gasser!

Have fun! DanDee

Just found the place for your RV and the Floor plan is funky for the rear. Never seen a rear bunk bed setup like that. also the People in the front has to walk all the way to the rear to use the bathroom..... not like most that are located in the front 1/3

boonsur... I looked at and almost bought a tagalong trailer with the same rear triple bunk setup a few years ago (when the kids were much smaller!).

Really liked it on walk thru & the kids thought it was great... but it was used & the price wasn't right.

Now that the kids are teens, I'm not sure that they would be happy in bunks... so we just bought what made mom & dad happy!!! :D ( a 27' Alumascape 5ver)

I think you'll be very happy with the trailer... especially with young ones!

Most people pull the slides in before they tow, but maybe you don't need to do that with DRW. :)

Very nice rig. How did the clearance work out?

I think with this truck, I won't even need to raise the front jacks..... just drag 'em along, too!

Much to my relief, bed clearance doesn't look like it will be an issue. I went with the axle upgrades, which gave me 16" tires. When I first hooked up, I was "bow-down" with 6" of clearance. I raised the Pullrite 2" and tried it again. Now I have 8" of clearance, and the frame is within 1/8" difference, front-to-back..... perfect!

I wanted to get a triple-slide to have the large living area. But, with two kids (4 & 6yr old), this was the better option. Because of the high ceilings, the interior space seems quite big as is. Also, the little desk next to the dinette really seems to open the whole thing up. Doesn't seem like 3' would make a difference, but it really does. This is also a good rig for "fishing trips, with the guys". Every one can have a bed, without being too "funny";) .

I'll get some interior pictures when we take delivery.

Can you get into the bathroom with the slides in?

I like the floorplan.

EricBu12: "walk all the way to the back to use the bathroom" ... It's only 32' RV. It's not like you have to walk 200 yards to get to the outhouse.

I have similar floorplan with bathroom in back and my reasoning was... If bathroom in front 1/3 it is on raised deck of floor and requires kids to go up steps in middle of night when they have to go to bathroom and thats not great idea for little ones that usually are half sleep walking, so at night I prefer to have bathroom more convenient for kids

This bathroom style is also drastically smaller. Big enough to move around in, but not much more. This is O. K. to me. I'd rather use the square footage for other living areas (don't spend much time in the bathroom). Another advantage, people (kids/guests) aren't walking into your bedroom if they need to use the facilities. Nice if you want to sleep-in, take a nap, etc. Showers in this style bathroom are typically really small, but because of the mid-placement in the unit, I have plenty of headroom (I'm 6'2", and not a problem).

great rig

I have a 30 ft sandpiper year 2000 and love the rig, no problems, almost the same floor plan. The bathroom is in rear. I wish i would of got the 16in. rims and tires.

What's the height from the bed rail to ground when you have it hooked up? Does the truck sit level, so you're not shining your lights in the tree tops?

I hope you at least have a magazine rack in the bathroom.

:D

and looking back (standing in the front bedroom)...

PLaFrambois, I will measure the height of my bed rails (loaded), and the bottom of the 5th wheel this weekend, when I hook it up again. I'll post my findings.
