2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission my fass II pump sounds like a sawzall cutting a pipe

but i have 16 at idle and 13 wide open

but the pump is way louder than the truck

to me it sounds like a engine with out oil I ordered this thing thru the mail with daves diesel

well i'm in south florida and this our only car so down time would be a big pain in the well you know

i wish we could drive this thing somewhere and have them switch out the pump

when this was new it had just a small buzzing sound to it

it sounds like we are draging a peace of metal down the road now

First of all, make sure you have it installed correctly. Weep hole on the pump needs to be pointed down. If its up, water will fall down the hole and wash out that fnt motor bearing and the noise you are describing will happen. This is the number one issue that knocks HPFP's out.



2nd, call Dave’s Diesel with your SN and have them call me on Monday with some options.

the weep hole is down We had a guy at cummins diesel in west palm beach florida do the install he has the same pump on his truck i stayed and watched so yes the install was done rite when i need service i go to cummins vary nice guysand they let you in there to see whats whats the pump ran great for 6 or 7 months now i can feel it in my floor board when that pump is on

that thing is loud as hell

Yes... . fuel restriction can cause excessive noise. BUT you can also easily test for this with the 5 gallon bucket test.

so does mine, more like a chainsaw sometimes..... I drove 500 miles to have it installed by a FASS dealer..... I have contacted dealer on 3 different occasions with questions about the pump and have been blown off 3 times by dealer, including trying to order a part for it... ... I'm not saying FASS is bad, but maybe less then perfect in their marketing... ... . this is because customer service from the manufacture (you can't call them direct) sucks... . lesson learned never buy something you can't call the manufactaure direct and get manufacture support... ... there are good dealers, bad dealers and ones in between..... never trust a company that doesn't let you call direct about their product..... Dan I know you try hard and I appoligize for my factual comments and feel bad about your company support even for you..... and no I won't mention the dealer I bought it from... ... I have to pay about 35 dollars a year to a forum where there are posts no direct contact (meaning phone calls) for customer support from the manufacture..... if I don't belong to this forum I would be out of luck..... also appoligize for missed spelled word, etc. one hand is in a cast... . next time my first choice for a fuel pump will be a bicycle hand pump... .

We don't sell the FASS, instead we sell the AirDog. I have looked at and listened to the FASS. It is a loud product, one of the reasons we decided not to carry it. I think what you hear is normal and need not worry about that.

I understand that running wnty issues and questions though our dealers is a hot topic for some. BUT i can tell you coming from my seat here, it would be very hard for me to handle all the issues and questions I would get on the phone. I am IT at the moment! And our dealers do a tremendous job of helping me out with filtering all the smaller, easier questions, keeping me free for the more involved questions and such. We are looking towards a customer care line in the near future... but the system we have in place is working best for our growth at this time.



But if you had a dealer that was giving you the run around, you can always call here and leave a message for me and I will get you in touch with someone or call directly to resolve any issue. ALSO I am on pretty much every Dodge Diesel forum out there (10+ forums to be exact). I can be hard to get a hold of... but not imposable. Trust me, i do have every FASS customers best interest in mind when I deal with them.



Anyone that brings up noise and FASS in the same sentence in the last 8 months has not heard (Or lack there of) our new quite pumps…. . If you don't have the noise update, the pump could be on the louder side. But this has been addressed and have had numerous praises about it.

Yeah after about 6 plus months mine has gotten rediculously loud. If I have any of my windows open especially the rear window I have to crank the radio. I just deal with it. When it dies I will worry about it. I keep a banjo bolt and the plastic thing for the factory fuel line in the truck just in case.
