Buying CTD: '96 vs '99

Hi Guys, I just wanted to say hi. I just bought my first Cummins, and so far I am very impressed. It is a 99 2500 QuadCab SLT 4x4.

A friend of mine showed me this site, and I can't thank him enough for it. This is a great place to learn from. The comments made here also sold me on the truck and made my decision to buy much easier.

Anyone on here from Rhode Island? I was looking at the travel companion and didn't see anyone listed on it... needless to say there will be one on there shortly ;)

Welcome:)

When you get a moment, fill out the truck profile and signature sections on your user CP. It will help others identify your truck should you ever have specific technical questions.

Hi there, nothing beats that smile when you get that first CTD. Smiling when you get out of bed and still smirking when you fall asleep.

I've owned my CTD for just over a year now and I still get excited about going to work in the morning and it's only a 5 min drive... ... whats worse, is I've worked at the same place for 25 years now... ... not really anything to get excited about, except the drive there and home... ... I find myself taking the longway home too:D

Well, yeah, you cant let that thing get all gummed up and leave it feeling unwanted. If I didnt take the long way home, a tank of fuel would last me a month.

RI RAm- Welcome aboard. You will like the truck, even if you do have an electronic one;) Watch out for the BOMB bug. Once it hits, the only cure is another job to cover the cost of broken parts and upgrades. That or a rich mistress.

Thanks Guys... the bomb bug has already hit ;) , I have new AFE intake on the way, I think Guages and new exhaust will probably be within the next few weeks. :D Start off slow and see what happens! LOL

Anyone on here from Rhode Island?

Probably, but I know there's a bunch in Ct and Ma.

Go to the "Regional Events' section, and then "Northeast" and poke around.

Start off slow and see what happens

We all know what happens:-laf :-laf

And "welcome" to the insanity
