Off Roading Greg's funeral service on the 19th

Off Roading carli suspension 3.5" kit

I won the 2006 Division 6 bracket finals in Medford, Oregon yesterday! This is my first GOLD Wally. I also believe that this was the first division bracket final won by a diesel pickup (somebody correct me if I'm wrong. . ).

Here are a couple of links to the results:

NHRA Division 6

Dragrace Central

Out of the 8 rounds there was only one run that would not have been right on the dial. The truck is running so consistent! The thanks for this goes to DTT for the transmission, Source Automotive for the twins, and F1 diesel for the injectors. There is no doubt that this is a winning combination!

The last I heard the total race car count for this event was over 700. I had to laugh, when one of the NHRA tech guys said that it's kinda sad that the fastest race car in the class is a diesel pickup. :-laf

Once again Paul, you’ve exemplified the attributes of an *** kicking, dominating, cougar like reflexes, Inferred sonar, Great White shark gel sensory detection sys and proven to be more consistent then Washington state gas tax increases…Many salutes to you and your success……

You-R-da-Man!!!!!!!

Incredible Job Paul.

Maybe the title "Best Diesel Drag Racer on the Planet" would fit. ;)

David, coming from you I take that as a huge compliment. Thank you!

You and I both know, that there are a lot of other good diesel drag racers out there. Many are just pursuing other forms of drag racing beside the NHRA bracket series.

With the NHRDA series here on the west coast I race against some of the toughest competition that I run against all year. It has amazed me in the last year how much everyones reaction times have improved, and it's not an easy task to cut good lights with the amount of roll out we have.

There are others in the diesel world that don't bracket race on a daily basis, that could kick my $$$. I started to list some of the others, but I quickly realized that the list was to long!

The people that I buy parts/products from also deserve a lot of credit.

Rip Rook has spent countless hours at the track and on the street to come up with a set of twins that works awesome. I had people tell me that I would never be consistent with twins... :D

All the people at DTT. Both Bill and Stefan drag race, in the professional classes. It's hard to find an issue of National Dragster that at least one of them is not mentioned. Not only did they sell me a great product, but have supported me with great advice and tech support. As long as I do what Bill tells me to, everything works out just right. :-laf

Don M with F1 Diesel. When drag racing against the traditional race cars, neither the racers or the track officials have much tolerance for smoke. The Mach 6+'s that I bought from Don, not only supply me with the power I want, but keep the smoke at a minimum. I produce a puff of smoke at launch, and then run smoke free down the track.

Also I have purchased everything that is on my truck. I mention the above to let people know that I appreciate the quality of products that have sold me.

Sorry for the long post.

Absolutely a true statement. In 2003 I actually won some races in DHRA and have a Rudy to prove it. But that was 2003. If I was still racing in 2006 I would be so far behind I wouldn't even know what the Rudy looked like. :-laf

You make a good point and there are lots of good racers now in our sport which is great. But lets face it, a Gold Wally means you went a lot of rounds against some of the best NHRA competition. I will stick to my title for you for now. Awesome accomplishment, awesome exposure for our sport and keep it up.

You are absolutely correct. That is why it was so important that my truck would run on the dial. Over and over again.

12. 80 is not very fast in our trucks at all anymore. In fact with the box all the way up, it has run a best of 12. 24. I had to slow it down to meet class rules. Normally for the sportsman class in division 6 you can't run faster then 13. 00. At the bracket finals they drop that by . 2 so that cars that normally run at high altitude tracks won't run to fast. I ran the comp box on 4x5 instead of the normal 3x5, and it ran between 12. 80 and 12. 82. I like to run at the quick end of the class... :D

At the division 7 bracket finals, next month, I will be able to run as quick as 12. 00. I'm working now on making it consistant at 12. 00...
