Jim,

Watch out! I hear Rob Thomas is going to ship his truck across the lake on a Ferry:D to pull against you.

I remember him saying "I rule the North"

:-laf :-laf

Justin you freak, fact is, I've only placed as high as 3rd, I'm easy pickin's. It's hard to "rule the North" when Diesel Darryll Poole is only 20 minutes away from me, not to mention some other trucks, I'm forever screwed, LOL.

"Founder--Anti Dump Truck association" and "fairies"??,

Later, Rob

good luck jim. hell just wind her up & dump the clutch & hang on :) just kiddin. I wish i could be there but im going to a pull in wyoming il down by peoria on saturday. I cant help ya out much on how to pull cause i run a auto trans... anyways have fun & if it starts to bounce jump ship ;) . kurt.

I

What gears?

Forget first high, that gear is for wimp clutches.

3rd low minimum, with 3:54 or second high.

4th low with 4:10

Go to the floor, keep it there, forget about watching boost, it will make it when you start letting the clutch out.

I don't THINK you have enough tire to hop.

ROB THOMAS fan club??? I can see me, but Rob? Pansy earing and all? PUHLEASE!!!

He didn't even pull in th e big boy class, he could have got 4th!

i broke again!!!

i may still show up, but not with the toy.

i twisted the mainshaft in my transmission on saturday mudracing. it seems the transmission didnt like 3rd gear high range(3. 54 gears)launches.

now i am done racing that truck for the year.

if i bust my butt i can cannibalize the truck and make my other truck ready for some pulling.

... . just remember to back out after the second hop, seems a lot of trucks go hop, hop, hop, BANG!!!!

Ok, you guys talked me into it... Everybody say a little prayer for me and my vp about 1pm CST this Saturday when I tap the wire. I have decided to change my banjos too, since they are just sitting here in a bag, I might just as well put them in.

Edit--

I did some testing last night at the local boat landing parking lot;)

2ND L @ 3000 = 7. 5MPH

1ST H/3RD L @ 3000 = 12. 5MPH (these two gears appear to be identical)

4TH L @ 3000 = 20MPH

2ND H @ 3000 = 22. 5MPH

Thats one hell of a jump from 3L to 4L.

Rob

What the hell do you mean its not about winning? The losin part sure ain't fun!

He'll win, can't be any good runners that far north. ;)

And the weather plays a big part, they cancel if it rains. :p

And Gene should know. He's a born LOSER!!!:p;)

He's got twice the motor than he needs (that I've seen anyway), and 5 times the clutch of the competition. Absolutely he'll win.

I'm suffering from tisdale envy.

I must confess, I am jealous of jtisdale and his Mitchell clutch. I just can't compete with that. Such as it goes.

BTW, jtisdale, did your wife tell you I have sooo much power that I slipped MY twin disk clutch last night on the street? Pulling clutch, here I come!

well boys... i wont be there.

the cannibalization process is going too slow. the trade of clutches is a pain in the rear, and the injector pump trade is going to take too long. so i will have to wait till next time.

jim, try second high, and start at 2000rpm and drive like you are trying to get a heavy trailer going. with your power and smooth tires you will prolly just spin out anyways.

later, grizz

FYI... the road from Platteville to Cuba City is impassible due to road construction.

I'll probably be there around 5:30 or so. If anybody needs or wants my cell phone number, its in the Travelers Companion, or pm me before noon Saturday morning.

Thanks for all the tips and suggestions.

I wonder if being the featured truck of the day pic on the TDR homepage today is a good omen?

Congrats early :D

Thanks Aron and Heather, Nixter, Dan and Craig for coming to watch. I had a good time, didnt break and learned some stuff.

I got 3rd out of 15 or so trucks with a distance of 283. 2nd was a Ford 4 door at 290. 1st was a lady in a Dodge at 309.

I cant say enough about my Mitchell clutch. I think I sold a few.

I can pull 1 or 2 more times, but then I'll have to have loops. So it looks like my career is almost over before it got started. Maybe next year I can figure loops in on the budget.

Thanks again you guys.

Look out Rob and Gene

Jim is coming on strong he'll be right up there in no time!! He had a beautiful launch and an awesome pull. I am glad I got to watch him pull. It was a lot of fun to see all the pulls even those non-smoking gassers.

Craig

I told you, you had more clutch than anyone else there. TAP THE WIRE! TAP THE WIRE! TAP THE WIRE! What do we have to do? Have an intervention?!:D

I can't point the finger too much, I didn't pull. It's a good thing too. On the way home (got home at 2:30 am), I needed some excitement to keep me awake. Lo and behold, a Nissan Altima was game (I don't know what HE was thinking). So from a light we take off. I had him bad and wanted to show off a bit more. So I hit the FMS. ZIP! Clutch said, "KNOCK IT OFF!!!" Greased it a little more, I did. So, if I'd have pulled, I might not have gotten home. Good thing I didn't give into temptation. I would like to give that Ford credit. He did have a really strong pull. Too bad he tried to shift and busted his hitch. :p There was alot of carnage. Most of it was at the starting line (or within 50 feet).

Anyway, I've uploaded the videos of that night of severs and tisdale. Hope you guys enjoy the not-so-good quality.

csevers' pull.

jtisdale's pull - 1

jtisdale's pull - 2

So Jim, when are you gonna go on the tour?

Good job Jim sounds like your hooked now :) . I had good luck in wyoming on saturday & managed to win. There was 3 dodges that were in 1st 2nd & 3rd so its cool to see the dodges on top. I didnt break anything except for my right front mud flap(turned to short pulling on to the track & the tire caught it & tore it loose :( . talk to ya later kurt.
