I put aside all performance mods for the time being, and ordered black plastic bed rail caps, Catch all floor mats, and a leather interior. I suppose my first drivetrain mod will be a 4" exhaust and exhaust brake.

I know you from the Tundra Solutions site I go by latmac on the Tundra site. I have an 01, SR-5, V8, 4x2. I wanted a 3500 Cummins regular cab 4x4 when I bought my Tundra, even though I don't need one. It must be an emotional thing :). Now with the new Dodge 1 ton coming out about this time next year as an 03, with all of the improvements, I might wait. The Tundra is a sweet ride and all of the truck I will ever need. But I love to mess with stuff, and I have never owned a diesel. Love the way the Cummins sounds and the Dodge looks. Since your an experenced Tundra owner and Cummins owner, let me ask you some questions. If you were going to buy a used 99 or 00 Cummins would you be scared to get an automatic? I will never be working it that hard, but I have a friend that has a 00 Dodge 1500 and is on his 3rd automatic and only pulls a utility trailer. Also you know how you hear stories :). I would hate to buy one and end up spending 3-4,000 a throw on fixing the transmission. The wife would not like it either. My other alternative would be to wait a year and order a new one with the allison automatic and just drive the Tundra. But I hate to wait on things :). Where are your pictures and details on your 94?

Hey Latmac! I had an automatic and did heavy pulling with no problems. But mine did NOT have a lockup convertor. If you keep the Tundra, go for a 5 or 6 speed RAM and enjoy the best of both worlds. If not, the Mopar automatic is not a bad transmission. It just isn't up to handling super heavy loads or extra high output bombed motors.
