6BTA Marine - PROJECT on Ebay

Well guys I did it. I was bad in my truck yesterday. I recently installed an FMS box and my truck finally warmed up. They take forever to warm up in 20-30 degree weather going downhill.

The engine temp went into the safe zone and I turned on the box. I just wanted to play.

I got pulled over for speeding by a bike cop on the northbound north-end of Nevada Ave in Colorado Springs. Nevada at that point goes one way northbound, to I-25 NB. The speed limits increase from 35 to 45 to 55 before the merge ramp.

Two cars both a half mile ahead of me and no one next to or behind me so I punched it. I was up to 69 right as the cop radar-ed me. And where did he catch me? Yes, folks, you guessed it, 10 feet before the 55 mph limit sign. Figures huh.

Gotta go to court. Speed is too high over limit. Well, I should be ok, my only other ticket was running a left turn red arrow 2 years ago.

Also, I put the plug in my turbo to block the waste gate. The extra boost took care of the smoke. I am sure he would have said something if I left a black cloud in his face. He didn't ask or even look at the box on my dash though.

Another version of paying to play.

Yeah, but court fees are still cheaper than a new VP!

No fuel pressure problems. Still 14-15 idle and 9-10 WOT.

I was scared to run it with the fear of my VP going out but I eventually drove it more and more with it everyday and its good so far!

Clutch was slipping at 63% so I backed it off and found out where it will not. 55% is about max without. But everything else is stock as far as injectors go. I will be adding a clutch before injectors.

I like that the FMS can record max values. Boost was 34. 3 psi and 1107 degrees for EGTs on stock exhaust straight piped and BHAF at approx. 6000 feet.

Ask for a deferment. You need to do this at your first court appearance. Ask the Judge first if you can, then the DA.

Keep your nose clean and ticket free for 6 mos to a year and the charges get dropped.

The last ticket I got was back in '94 in Kremmling. I was before the Judge before I was allowed to talk to the DA about a plea bargain. Judge looked at me like I was a little blue monkey when I asked him about it then said that he was unfamiliar with it so I had to explain it to him. "If the DA will approve it, ask him. NEXT"

The DA had no problem with it. I had requested a 1 year and was given a 6 month. Full court fines and fees, but I stayed ticket free and the charges were dropped.

Funny part was that I was the 6th or 7th one to go before the judge out of 30 - most for speeding in the same place by the same cop. The first bunch that wanted to plea it to a lesser offense looked like they just swallowed a glass of sour milk and wanted to change to a deferment - no deal you made your agreement, and the rest that followed me all wanted the deferment. Just call me a rabble rouser.

Thanks Sticks, I will do that. It is on the 22nd, my court date. I wonder what my court fees are going to be...

Thank you, Nick

We have the same thing here. It's called deferred adjudication. Here you have to stay ticket free for 90 days and the charges are dropped. You pay the fine, court cost etc. which usually come to around 150. 00 but is worth it since the ticket doesn't go on your record or your insurance.

Here in my county, it's $100 fee for, what they call probation, or deferred judification. Nothing on your record, nothing on your insurance, it's like a legal bribe, as long as you don't get a ticket for the amount of time, which, lucky for me, is only 3 months here. (I can get tickets in other counties,, and they don't count) You are off scott free.

:)

Thanks guys.

I got it in El Paso County (CO Springs) which is where my g/f lives. I will be staying at home in Conifer, too, and working in Lone Tree which is Jefferson County and Douglas (I think, I just got the job) respectively. So chances will be even less!

Thanks again
