Hey guys my friend just bought a 96 3500 with 115000miles on it what maint. would you do on it, its a 2wd a good truck Im just curious what you do thanks alot!

Unless he received records indicating the last fluid changes, I would replace the engine oil and oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, transmission fluid and differential.

You might also consider bleeding the brake fluid (especially if the fluid is dark in the reservoir) as well as repack the front wheel bearings. Cheaper than getting caught on the road with a bad wheel bearing. At that time, you can inspect the front pads and rotors (use Performance Friction pads or Napa which have a lifetime warranty).

2WD dually front rotors are fairly expensive. $200 / each because they are integral to the hub unlike the 4X4 version.

Then there's the engine coolant. Flush and refill.

Good luck.

What redram said.

Then take a look at the ball joints, tie rod ends, and shocks.

And TELL HIM TO COUGH UP THE $35 FOR A MEMBERSHIP!!!

I have a friend who couldn't justify the money (he CAN afford it) and then when he finally did join he said "Why didn't you tell me to do that sooner?"

Amen to the KDP. Guy around the corner did'nt believe in all that hot rod stuff for a diesel and just cratered his case with a lost pin at 135k. :(
