My frist 2nd Gen 24 valve need help on Mods

Hello guis I just got a 2001 auto 4X4 QC and I want to get some more boost out of it. I have had two 1st gen with just a little fuel truned to them both where 5 speeds love then bouth. I just want to get some more out of the 2001. but do not have lost of money right now so cheap would be better for now. I am looking in to some gauges tran temp, pyrometer , fuel psi and boost gauges. And if you guys have pic of the turbo housing and the boost mods and the ring that I can take out of the turbo for sound.

Boost will not increase power alone. Fuel must increase and inturn will create more boost. best thing to do in do a search for 24valve fueling mods. Then explore. best cheap thing to do is open exhaust and intake up a little. put a GOOD air filter in, and or swiss cheese the air box. The "turbo silencer ring" is located in the intake side (compressor) of turbo, its silver in color and held in but a grew retainer ring. the ring has a tapered end like a barb on one end. take a small screw driver and pry the end out of its groove and then pry out the ring. it may scratch the aluminum housing a little, don't worry about it. the silencer ring should just fall out, but you may have to pull it out with your finger... . hope this helps, pics can be found on the internet or on this site. do a search for "turbo silencer ring". If money is tight this is what I would do:



1- Gauges, at the very least a fuel pressure

2- BHAF, this is a cheap upgrade for around 50 bucks

3- a set of injector nozzles ( easy to do yourself ) 150 to 300 bucks

4- boost elbow, this depends on which turbo you have

5- Edge, VA or other box, this will have a boost fooler in it

6- strait pipe for the exaust, this will be loud but is a cheap mod





I but the injectors over the box but you can reverse the order, I think it is more of a personal preference

Tanks for youer help. The tuck just had a transfer and injector pump put in by the man that had it befor me.
