I changed my fuel filter recently to discover that the heater element/ water drain Assembly was replaced by a plain fuel filter. Has anyone ever seen this before? and is it due to a cheap repair, by a previous owner? Now that winter is coming, and I may be driving the truck in the winter I want to get everything in tip top shape. All thoughts are welcome, as to where I could get the parts. Cummins? or D/C?

JD maybe this'l help...

Cummins would be my choice also.

Cummins part #'s:

Element,Heating #3911527

Seal,Rectangular Ring #3913695

Adapter,Filter Head #3912603

Filter,Fuel #3912104

Granted some of these numbers are probably superceded by new numbers but this should get you going in the right direction.

I'm not sure if the WIF sensor/ Drain come with the filter, it doesn't show it in my parts book. Check with the parts folks at your nearest Cummins.
