Well, me and the gf father drove about 500 miles round trip to Roanoke, IL to pick up a 92 d250. boy was that a journey! the truck is in great shape, a couple of problems like: wiring, valve cover gaskets, needs exhaust, and diff is totally fubared, speedo reads 20 mph slow, guages go bonkers when left turn signal is on. the good things are: NV4500 swap!!!!!!, perfect interior, everything works, 27 MPG!!(verified with my odo), never touched pump. heres a couple of pics. We ended up getting the truck for 5700 dollars out the door with a matching shell.

ill get some more pics for you guys later with my truck too. any advice on the problems? the diff houls and grinds like a wolf, and the shifter is kinda sloppy(shifter bushings on the 4500?). thanks!

27MPG!!!!! Wow, mine wont even top 20 right now. I may have the shop leave mine stock when I get it rebuilt next week or so. Nahhhh... ... Saw an ad on I believe autotrader for one (club cab, SRW, 5spd) that claimed 27mpg as well. Might have to look into getting a 92 D250 club cab. Best I ever saw in mine was 22. 7.

BTW- Nice looking pickup

There are a bunch of places online one can get them. It's for 3" outlet. But I can't recall the web address's right now :(.

Just for comparison, I have gotten 26 + on a couple of trips, so it is a realistic number if you're driving light.

I too have managed 25 MPG with my 92 D250 club cab 5 speed, but you have to keep the speeds around 60-65,and accelarate from on ramps, and toll booths easy.

Nice!

Nice Truck!! Personally I don't like two-tone, and that color looks nice on it. Oo.

For the wacko gauges be sure to check all the chassis and body grounds in the engine compartment and under the dash. I've seen similar problems in my '92 as well as other vehicles caused by bad grounds. It won't hurt to add an extra large ground conductor between the battery neg and the body.

I get somewhere around 22 mpg on a regular basis in local driving with mine. Much better than my other diesel by a different manufacturer and the gf's 2005 1500 with the hemi :D
