I ran a 30 mile highway loop before and after with the cruise set at 70mph both times. Before the Miser, the overhead showed 18. 3 mpg and hand calculated i was at 19. 477. After the Miser, the overhead showed 21. 0 mpg and hand calculated i was at 21. 385. Powerwise, I can't really tell a difference, but was never keen on the power side of things, I'm more interested in squeezing some more mpg's.

It should be noted that the 'after' test was run with a muffler delete, whereas I had a muffler on the 'before' test. I wanted to do the 'after' test before I took my muffler out, but the weather wouldn't permit it and boredom got the best of me, so i found myself in the garage yanking the old muffler out.

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Seems like a decent increase in mileage, so I think I'll keep it. I can't imagine the muffler delete would have that big an affect on mileage, but I may try another test with the Miser disconnected and then reconnected again in the near future.

You know its just a re-labled quad box which has hundred pages of tech and reviews here.....

Thanks for the good info though :)

I just installed the same product and so far I'm not impressed. Like you I'm only looking for more mileage. We took a 840 mile trip last week and cruising @ 70mph only averaged 18. 85 mpg. Without the box, we get 16. 5-17 mpg daily driving hwy. /city. I do not use the overhead, as I do not trust it. Truck is an '05 2500, QC, short box w/ 3:73 rear . Bone stock & no load. The literature says a minimum of 3 mpg increase. I'm going to call them about the poor results. I expected results more in line with your mileage.

I'm well aware of that and if you would search, you would see all the posts about it being a rebadged quad, no posts that i could find giving actual results with the Miser box. :)

Lips,

You can't use the overhead after the install of ANY box, porgrammer or anything that changes the factory performance electrically. The overhead is a slave read out to the EMC, when you change the signals the ECM is sending to the overhead you will get false and higher readings as well. You have to resort to filling the tank till you can see the fuel level, drive EXACTLY the same and then refill EXACTLY the same and drive again EXACTLY the same to see if you get any MPG increase and then do the math. Then there the fuel quality issue, was the 1st tank better????

Less than upfront sellers will let you fool yourself into thinking you got more MPG when you call them and say the overhead is waaaay better, we at DPPI don't feel that is fair or justified.

I think we all know the overhead display is grossly inaccurate. If you read my original post you'll see I gave hand calculated results. I gave hand calculated results for the very reason you mention. I just included the overhead results for $hits and giggles.
