Finished Taxes!!!

As many of you may remember from previous posts, I have been out of work since 10-11. My position in aerospace engineering was eliminated after the 9-11 attacks. Well, things are finally starting to happen. I have an interview today with the Colorado DNR for a somewhat low paying IT position, and a strong lead on an engineering position very similar to what I was doing before. The engineering position pays a respectable salary. If you're talking to The Big Guy today, put in a good word for me.

klenger - I know what you are going through. I have been looking for a new job since Oct 5th. I have had several interviews, but nothing has panned out yet. I remember one job I called about after sending them my resume and they had gotten 1000 resumes in the first day of the job posting. The IT field is dead right now.

Morph.

Ken,

Done. Wishing you all the best. The right job is out there, since "The steps of a righteous man are ordered by the Lord. "

I am pulling for you Ken, and put in a word for you. I have been out of work for about a month now, but the interviews are really starting to come quickly. Hopefully we will all be able to work if we want to soon.

klenger - Good Luck and you and all the rest of us that are out of work are in my prayers.

I've been "between jobs" since Aug. and hate it. I'd like to ask for prayers from you'all also. Thanks

Gene

Ken,

Good luck to you... I'm in the same boat, I've been out since the end of September. It seems as though things are starting to pick up a little out here... . I have had a couple of interviews last last week, but nothing definite yet.

Hang in there guys!

Update

I had an interview today with the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife (put that on a business card). The interview was with 3 people and lasted about 40 minutes. They asked a lot of good questions, and I think I did OK answering them. One of the questions was what my approach was in solving problems. I responded that I was glad that she asked the question as it would give me a chance to discuss my problem solving philosophy, which is to always focus on the problem and not try to blame other parties for the situation. They should make a decision by the early next week, with employment starting March 1, if I am selected. This is the IT job that doesn't pay very well, but includes some training to increase my skills. Other than the money, it sounds like a neat job, with room for advancement. Plus it's a government job, so it's more stable.

God is good.

Been there, done that, I know what youre going through guys. Got caught in B. R. A. C. in 94. I didnt see full time work for 2 YEARS!! !!!

I put in the word for you guys with the Big Guy. :D

Done.

And, for those of you unemployed and looking for work in the high-tech, IT, engineering fields, I'll do my part as well. I promise I won't seek full-time employment in the next six moniths. I quit the Corp rat race nearly two years ago and haven't missed it yet. Granted, I will eventually need employment, but not just yet.

Good luck, and hope y'all find good jobs!
