My new 06' should be here on April 10th (NOW WHAT)?

Well the dealer I ordered the truck from call me today to give an update on my order. He gave me the VIN #, the VON # and his delivery / arrival date that it should be at the dealer.



My question is this, now do I make sure that the new truck has all the latest "updates" as far as TSB's, Recalls, and software, ect? The dealer I ordered the truck from is in Houston, Tx. and I live in Baton Rouge, La. I know that any dealer can do this, I just want to get started on the right foot and have the truck as best as it can be for the trip home.



So that being said any special "to do" list before I take delivery and leave the dealer ship?

Take a DEEP breath and try not to look at the truck like a new toy!!!!

There are a ton of things to check ----- here are a few hot buttons for me. I'm sure others will chime in.

- Make a checklist

- Bring friend who isn't excited about your new purchase and have them look it over as well



- Things to check ----

- Drive it

- Make sure you hit the magical 65-70 speed for driveline vibration.

- Check for the "launch shutter" below 20 mph

- Listen for windnoise

- Look over all non paint colored surfaced for overspray - I noticed overspray on the windshield and rear bumper on my truck after I took delivery. With no leverage it is impossible to get a straight answer on why it was touched up.

- Check the tunes our ---- rattling door panels are common

- Get a list of TSB's (technical service bulletins) and study up on the common problems

- If you rotate the spare --- make sure it has the same markings as the rest of the tires - my spare has OWL and the truck has BSW.



and finally --- smile a lot on the way home!!

I ordered it on Feb. 25th, they charged my $1000. 00 deposit on March 3rd and it looks like delivery is on or about April 10th ish. Not to bad I guess. I had two other trucks to sell anyway, so I was not in any rush. The dealer, Helfman Dodge has been 100% professional all the way, SO FAR. We will see when I bring them the check for the truck next week if they start any song and dance. :-{}

On my 06 the A/C didnt blow as cold as I thought... turns out it came from the factory with a low charge in the system. So make sure it has a fresh and FULL charge.

Mine was ordered Feb.22 The end of April I think

They told me 5 weeks when I ordered the truck?I laugh when he said that. It use to take 8 weeks In the old days. I am going to check today and see what he has to say. I like pulling his chain. I bet It the end of the month before I get It.

What does BX mean?I just got a 2 wheel drive,automatic,diesel,In a short bed, 4 door with the Larmie pkg. I will dress It up a good bid. Hood scoop the first thing.

Your dealer should deliver with a FULL TANK! If not, take a walk. Every dealer ive dealt with has given a full tank
