I just put on a set of 35-12. 5-17 BFG muds and now have some questions. First off, is there a product that I can get that will allow me to control the torque convertor to lockup in OD under 50 mph? I have no problems with how the transmission acts in the first few gears, but I sure would like to be able to get full lock in OD while cruising the flats @ 45 mph. My truck just wont do it. Also, is the TQ lockup controlled by the computer. Thanks for any input.

Yes, A commander will do it , But your stock TC won"t last to long in most cases. and will effect the rest of your transmissions life.

Take your truck to the dealer and have your computer adjusted for the new tire size. The new setting is 601 or 604, revolutions per mile, depending on who you talk to. My dealer did the reset for free, takes all of 3 minutes. This "might" help with some shifting problems, but not TC lock up.

As far as TC, the ATS Commander will do it, but like Twest said, you probably won't last long with a stock converter. Give ATS a call, they will give you the lowdown on the Commander and your stock transmission.

I have the ATS Stage III transmission, TC, Racing VB and Commander, I highly recommend it, but pricey. Best $3000 I have spent, should have been my first mod/bomb.

Yes the computer controls it. Do a search for "mystery switch" for an easy solution to what you want to do. But be aware, the stock converter clutch will probably not make it too long.

35's

Just from experience, I ordered my truck with 4. 10s knowing that I was going to upgrade to taller tires. My truck and transmission operates great with my 35s. I think the new CTDs operate the BEST with 4. 10s period. The sweet spot is at higher rpms with these new motors.

I had a set of 33's on it and everything was fine for me. The little jump to the 35's nailed me. I wish I had the 4. 10's. Thanks for all the input.
