I want to send it off to be ceramic coated, Is there anything that needs to be done to it besides drilling and tapping for the Thermocoupler?

manifold coating

You might want to mention to your ceramic guy the ATS has some sort of high temp coating on it, at least that is what their web site say's, might save an incompatible issue. And I would have the coating company tape off the expansion joint areas so you don't have any issues re-assembling the thing. You would think it's a no-brainer... Better safe than sorry IMHO.

It dont look like it has any kind of coating on it and even has some surface rust from sitting around. I figured I would have to sand the coating off where they go togather but I can mention to them to tape it off.

Port Matching, That is something I have never done so im kinda intimidated, Is it fairly easy to do?

Well im thinking mine is one of the earlier ones cause i dont see a coating and Its no drilled and tapped, Isnt the new ones supposed to be tapped?

mine came tapped coated and assembled

When you put it back together, use never-seez on the ball and socket joints. I just paint them with VHT header paint. It lasts pretty well and costs $8.

My Manifold didnt come with Bolts, Are they something special or can i get them at any place that has bolts? Anyone know what size they are?

The 3rd gens re-use the original bolts and spacers as well as the heat sheild.

In that case you can use allen head bolts at least in the center section. the factory bolts can be used with spacers in both ends.

Ok is there a reason not to use allen head bolts throughout?

If I do need spacers can i just use some pipe cut to the right length?
