My new Bumper

I just built a new bumper. I'm trying to post a picture.

Looks nice, the only thing you going to fill in the void areas under your main pipe with something, that radiator will probably fill up with bugs pretty fast. But It still looks pretty good as is.

What kind of pipe did you use? Wall thickness. How much does it weigh? What thickness plate did you use to attach to frame? Questions, questions.....

It's all sch. 40 pipe and the frame mounts are 1/2" plate. Big time overkill but I already had the plate. The diamond plate is 1/8". It weighs about 100 lbs. That's just a guess, I didn't weigh it, but I can pick it up by my self.

I will probably add some fog lights but I don't think I'll close in the voids. I'm also going to build some front receiver accessories like a big step to use while working under the hood and a rack to hold things such as an ice chest.

Any other ideas?

I just wanted to throw an idea at you that I saw this weekend, and others have mentioned on here... to cut down on the "bugs in the radiator" problem you could put some plain ol' window screen over the intercooler and that should help tremendously.

Nice work, looks good. One question, does anybody out there know how these aftermarket bumpers affect the dash air bags? Is the bumper part of the system or are the bags deployed by some other trigger mechanism?

The Airbag system is controlled by decelleration sensors that are (I think, cant remember) in the cab and also under the hood. Replacing the bumber with an aftermarket unit has no ill effect on the system.

I don't know where the air bag sensors are, but I do know that they are NOT on the factory bumper. I think that the bags will still work the same.

Air bag sensors are on the metal inner fenderwells under the batteries.
