I needed to do a demo for a meeting I had the other day so I thought I'd work on my website some at the same time. Check out my new Cummins web page at http://my.voyager.net/stevest/cumminsdiesel.htm and tell me what you think. The main page you'll go to is an image map - it may be a little slow for modem users as it's approximately 350K worth of data. When the page comes up point at the different menu options and at the hood and doors of the truck and give it a bit of time to load (there's also a sound file that will load). Let me know what the performance is like for you guys because I tried to make the files as small as possible for dial up users and want to know how well I did.

I've put a page on there with links to the articles I've published as well as threads on here that I've started that contain good information. The pages it's linked to don't have that much info on them now - I'll expand it. Consider it a work in progress :) .

Sweet web page... ... . I don't think I get the full effects though without a cable modem... ... Love how the truck starts and then runs while your there... ... Nice job

5 star web page

Steve,

Very nice:cool: Love the pop up hood.

I can't comment on speed with a modem. You see, I am properly cabled:D

One thing, when I passed onto the doors with the cursor your text was behind the image menu. The hood text was fine. I am running IE beta 6. 0 so who knows if it will remain that way. If it does, you might want to move your text a little higher.

Very cool. If you are accepting constructive critisim, I find the higher contrast backgrounds distracting when overlaid with text.

From the time you spent on the web page, I assume that you don't have any more bombing to do on the truck.

I'm envious

Nice work! Your truck looks a lot like mine but you've got the goodies & mine's stock :( (But not for long :) )

You could sell the "cumminstd. wav" file. Couldn't get you to share it, could we? I'd love to use it as my boot wav file.

That . wav file used to be in the download section of this forum, but I don't see the download section any more. Did it not make the conversion to the new system?

Steve,

Great sight. Great info. Thanks.

Your "How I did that" articles really help guys like me who are trying really hard to learn.

Thanks guys! The cumminstd. wav file did come from the download section on the original site. I don't think it made it over to the new site - there wasn't much there. What you can do to get it is go to my webpage and then use Windows Explorer and go to the temporary internet files directory off of windows and sort by extension. Go to the latest . wav file that is there and that will be the cumminstd. wav file. Just copy it to a different directory and rename it.

klenger - Hardly!! :D I didn't really spend that much time on it, 4-5 hours on the main page between taking the video of the truck, capturing the images, cutting the image files up, learning how to do an image map (that's my first one), etc. I have 3 or 4 bombs either sitting here or on their way to install.

Looks great

I like what you did with the graphics.

Good incentive to put my page back in the shop for some more virtual B. O. M. B. ing... :D
