My new truck has a squeak!

Hi everyone. I have 300km on my truck and it sounds like it has 100,000kms. I have a rather loud squeak coming from the front end. I here it when i climb into my truck and while driving at low speeds. I weigh 160lbs so I don't think i need to diet yet. Any one else have this problem. The truck is going to the dealer on Friday to replace damaged rear bumper from shipping. On a positive note my over head is showing 16. 3mpgs. Thank you for any help.

Sounds like something metal-on-metal. Could the upper and lower shock halves be rubbing against each other?

You don't mention wether you have kids... I have the same sounding squeak but the wife won't let me sell the kids.

Suspension Bushings

While your in the shop have them lube the shock bushings all



around (or just W-D 40 it yourself). Just one of many things it



could be from your description.

My truck has a squek also. I thought it was the dash but tracked it down to the transfer case shifter rubbing against either the plastic housing or something else under the boot. Will have to take the time to pull the boot and see where it is rubbing.

Was able to stop it by pulling the handle to the left. Easier to take 20 minutes to fix it than drive to the dealer.

I get 16. 5 with mine under normal use some times trailer some times not min is S. O. 2003 I have seen 99. 9 on the over head

Noise complaints are warranty claims at the dealership. Take it there, complain about what the truck is doing, and keep bringing it there until they finally fix it. You paid for your warranty - USE IT!
